| SUMMER PC ROOM |

It makes me awake up early morning every day. Although I do not know why, it awoke me up at 4 o'clock this morning, too. I drove my mom to the field and went there again to pick her up this morning, too. She like field work. I put Hitachi PC used in summer in the basement back to the next room after breakfast. It was there from June 25 to August 31. I thought that it put up with the humid environment for two months. A chair to use the PC was covered with green moss. But PC and other PC gears were OK. They were wiped my hands on a cloth. I carried them to the second floor after that. Flora came back to his place on the table again after an interval of two months. Hitachi Flora PC is good-looking. It was fine and still hot today despite the day of the end of August. My mom was lying on tatami in front of TV this morning, but she started sewing in the living room suddenly for her legless chair in the afternoon. It was a good gear to watch TV for her. She picked phone up early evening, and called me my name. It was from my nephew. "A stereo arrived to my house safely today." However, I got his call three times for his questions to the stereo after all. The CD player seemed not to work right. He said to me that he wanted another used CD player and wanted to add MD player. Anyway, I said to him that I could not find the way to clear the question unless I saw it. He said that he came to my house this weekend again. I watched a fishing comedy movie on TV until 11 p.m. tonight.(AUG/31) photo

I woke up at 6 o'clock this morning. It was a little late for me. My mom already had woken up, but she did not go to the field, because she had to cook special meal for dad for Bon. According to her, it was a kind of Bon, today was Bon of 30 day. Tempura that she cooked on the table, they all were vegetables that were grown by her. Of course, mom and I also had them for breakfast. It was fair skies this morning, but it turned out cloudy this afternoon today, too, before I knew that. I drove mom to the big drugstore that we have come and bought often at 2 p.m. I bought six cheap trunks of underwear at $5. I thought I did very useful shopping then, but when I went home and opened the bag, I took it that they were cheap articles. Their rubber will go slack in a year, and their clothes will wear out about the same time. I exchanged seven old trunks in the chest of drawers to new pants. Mom walked to the supermarket opposite to buy a present for her dead sister's parents in law. She walked to that house near the supermarket after shopping. Gas price raised up 3 yen from this August, in spite of that, but I heard that gas price will go up 2 yen from next month again, so I tried to call on the gas station to fill up the tank on my way home. My car went into gas station. The tank drank gas for 29 liters. Gas price a litter was 128 yen. $1.16 a liter. $4.4 a gallon. We paid $35 there. I got back home at half past 2 p.m. My mom came back home at half past5. I did not know the reason, but I felt like listening to "Weather Report" tonight, so I put one of them that I had on the turntable after meal after a long time. I chose record that was "Heavy Weather (1977)" to listen to. They were making deep sound in my darkness room. (AUG/30) photo

I woke up at 4:30 this morning. By the way, I went to futon at 10 p.m. after watching TV last night. It got chilly in the morning these days than before. It is under 20(68) degrees when I turn on PC. It was good condition for PC, but I put a thin blanket on my legs. Of course, I add a sweatsuit on T-shirt. I drove my mom to the field and pick her up this morning, too. I found a strange frog in the morning. There was a white frog in the pipe of a clothes-drying stand. Mom got a smile on her face as she looked at it. It made her a little happy. This morning was fair later cloudy from about at half past after 11 a.m. When I kept a diary for my blog in Japan, my sister came to my house suddenly just noon. She brought lunch that she bought at supermarket. We had them together on the living table, sister and I ate a pack of chow mein, mom chose a pack of spaghetti. She said to us that she had got a bonus the other day, so she gave me a polo shirt of navy color. She took a nap on tatami mat about for an hour. I got an e-mail from the used stereo owner this morning, so I gave a memo to lying her. "Will you give it to your son?" It said that a postage cost was $23, and the arrival day would be August 31. It started raining from 2 p.m. in a short time. I moved a washed bed sheet under the eaves. She went home at half past 3. I am listening to the radio on my futon on every Monday's night because there are interesting programs that night, but I listened to the radio after meal tonight, too. I went to sleep after listening to the radio news in English after 11 p.m.(AUG/29) photo

I woke up at 4:30 a.m. naturally this morning despite of Sunday morning, and was going to bed at 11 p.m. last night. My mom said to me last night that she was going to go to the field next morning, but she said to me when I went to downstairs "You don't need to take me to the field because I went to go there this morning." It was very rare case that my nephew who had slept at next room got up at 6 a.m. from himself. When he came to my house with his mother, he slept until 9 a.m. at next room. He turned PC on and began using it for the Internet. Of course, I was typing for this web page in my room then, he saw the display filled with English that I was typing. There is not PC in his house. So he is using PC in my house, mainly for the Internet. He has a cell phone from this April. His mother also bought it at the same time, so there are two cell phones in his house. We have kept in touch with e-mail since that. I am sending e-mail by PC to their cell phone. He went back home by bicycle at 11 a.m. When he tried to leave home, I said to him that I will e-mail to you if there is something. After that, I sent $5 as the successful bid price for the used stereo with PC instead of him this afternoon. It was partly cloudy later cloudy today. I went to futon at 10 p.m. (AUG/28) photo

I woke up at half past five this morning. My mom had already got up, and started cleaning the room in house with a vacuum cleaner. At that moment, she shouted me with big voice from under stairs at 6:05. "Guess what? I found Kako(Kamekiti) just now!!" According to her, she seemed to find it when she was using to clean beside a bathroom. She tried to move a vase on the floor to near place to use a vacuum cleaner there, I heard there was a tiny black lump there. It was a turtle that she bought. It was found safely by us after an half day. I thought he went out from a slight opened sliding door, so I already gave up all hope of looking for that from last evening. It was hopeless situation to look for it. I have never thought that he was in the house. There have been a missing turtle outside in my mind. He came back his home, in the water tank, safely after an interval of 12 hours. He had no injury, but a little bit starving. He was not stepped on our foot. He was a lucky boy. If my mom would not have cleaned the room this morning, he would not have been found by her. If my mom did not have a plan to visit a clinic today, she would have gone to the field this morning as usual, too, so she would not have cleaned the room this morning. And thanks to a coming typhoon. If the typhoon would not have come to over here most last morning, she would have visited the clinic yesterday, so it was so clear skies that she would have gone to the field. That's why he might not have been found if the situation was. There is no way he was a living turtle outside. He was a lucky turtle. Anyway, thanks to the good news, I could go to a clinic for my mom by scooter at 8 a.m. with a smile on my face to put her card on the reception desk beforehand. Then I drove her to the clinic at 10 a.m. and I went to nearby supermarket. I bought a box of beer and a bottle of cola(2L). She called at convenience store on her way home, and came back home on her foot at 1 p.m. in hot. She got phone from her grandson who was 15 years old at 5 p.m. And he came to my house himself by bicycle at 7 p.m. As soon as he got into the house, he went into the next room, and started using PC for the Internet. He talked to me that he wanted to get a used stereo tonight on auction site. He could get a very cheap one at just $5 by his uncle's great advise.(AUG/27) photo

| MISSING TURTLE |

I woke up at 6 a.m. I was out to try to take out a trash bag soon, but it was raining by the approaching Typhoon No. 11, so I went to the hut with the bag by car. It started heavy rain from 6:30. The typhoon passed through near Tokyo at 8 a.m. and was heading for the Pacific Ocean to the East, so rain stopped falling at 9 a.m. We did not get little damage by this typhoon. Today was cloudy ever since after that. By the way, Kamekiti, our tiny pet turtle, when it was taking a walk in my house without a leash, it was missing after that while I did not keep eyes on it for just a minute. Kamekiti was walking and going away somewhere. I looked for him inside and outside of the house soon from that until 6:30 p.m. for an hour, but evening was coming and getting dark though, after all he could not come into my eyes. I went to futon after meal by the shock at 7 p.m. I thought I would never be able to see that again and I almost gave up him in futon.(AUG/26) photo

I woke up at half past 5. I also had a slight headache by hung over this morning. I went to the field to pick my mom up there at 8 a.m. I had been in my room all day all the time since that. My mom walked to nearby house of a distant relationship to visit at 4 p.m. She came back home at 6 p.m. I watched the most popular TV drama "Train Man" from 10 p.m. tonight, too. I returned to my room and turned on the radio after the drama soon, because I wanted to listen to her voice that was her colleague's in the drama. At the same time, it started raining heavily by Typhoon No. 11 from 11 p.m. The typhoon was heading for Japan then. By the way, there is a green bucket filled with rainwater on today's picture, isn't it? Actually it had been raining heavily all through the night by a thunderstorm. I think this praying mantis came here under the roof from outside to escape from the terrible storm. This wooden bar that the mantis is holding is a hoe of my mom. (AUG/25) photo

Today was fine day, but autumn seemed to be approaching here, it was cooler than yesterday. I woke up at 5 o'clock. First my mom and I went to a drug store by car at 10 a.m. I bought button battery LR1130for a stopwatch that I bought at 100yen shop. Then I sent her to a clinic for her eyes with a box of energy drinks as a present that she bought at the drug store. I came back home soon after that, but she walked to another hospital near there for her skin after that. By the way, I have had a slight headache today again despite taking medicine twice today, but it was a kind of hung over. I thought a headache was gone completely, and I drunk a can beer last night after a long time. A call from her came to me at 4 p.m. at last despite putting her ticket into a box at 7 a.m. I went to a supermarket to pick her up soon. We came back home at 4:30p.m. Of course, I did not have any alcohol drinks tonight. And I watched horror TV tonight, too. But I thought it was real story in studio, so I was scared in front of TV for a long time. But I noticed that it was fiction before 10 minutes of the ending at last. So I thought that it just looked the radio program "Amazing Stories (Martian invades to the earth.) " by Orson Wells in CBS in 1938 for me. Today was fine day, but a little bit cool than yesterday, so I could study English in the daytime. By the way, I have a web page in Japanese on blog site, but I received a message for the first time yesterday from Hungary. Her name is Hungary Girl. I was glad to get the message. I watched TV, some true stories of a kind of horror program, and watched Crown's story, too. Ford offered technical cooperation to Toyota, but Toyota did not get it. Crown is a car that Toyota made by itself only for the first time in 1953, so it was the first domestic car. Crown is typical Japanese deluxe car even now. So it should not be sell in America now. It was fine this morning, but turned cloudy and muggy, and started hearing thunder from about 3:30 p.m. But it stopped once in an hour. However, I started seeing lightning in the dark from 8 p.m., and hearing thunder again in my room, too. I already lay on futon from 7 p.m. And it started raining from heavily about 9:30 p.m. at last. After all it went on raining with thunder and lightning during all through the night. It was so muggy that I did not do anything today. By the way, let me explain today's picture for you again. I visited this seashore since March 1999, but I was very surprised that anything around there had not changed. I felt just as if time was stopped. Just as if I came back to there by a time machine. There were also the same two boats there like this six years ago. We did not believe that there was no person except us despite seashore in summer. But there was a college near there. It was the fisheries college of Kitazato. Mr. Kitazato (1852-1931), who was founder of this college, was one of the best pupils of Robert Koch (1843-1910). He studied infectious, and found a remedy of tetanus at last. The college was in the mountain near seashore. There was no town around there, but there were only apartments for students around there. I visited here for the first time by a company trip in September 1986. I remember that I saw a few persons when I came to here six years ago despite in May. By the way, what is this? Please teach me what this is. We could not understand how to use it, and that is my question since I visited for the first time. Today was fine and too warm, too. It was typical summer day. And I was afraid that a slight headache had been staying in my head all day long. By the way, my nephew came to my house suddenly by bicycle at 8:30 this morning. He got into next room to use PC for the Internet soon. He seemed to want to get a stereo. So I taught him how to use Yahoo auction. He went to back his home noon, but he gave me a call about his bid at 9 p.m. So I bidfor the thing that he chose tonight instead of him. It was a used stereo with CD. I went to futon at 11 p.m. By the way, this picture was taken at Sanriku. It was sunny and hot in Kamaishi, northern area, but we went to southern area a little, it was cloudy and a little bit cool soon. So we were afraid there was fog over the sea this day. A cape should be over there on the sea. This is our car. There was no person here except for us. I put wet socks by in the cave on the roof to dry. But I forgot to take them before leaving. I went to futon at 0 a.m. last night, too, but in spite of that, I woke up at 5 a.m. naturally this morning, too. That's why I have a slight headache since I woke up. And today was hot day. So it might not have got well by that. So I got into the basement today after a long time. That's why I have been having a slight headache all day despite taking a medicine. I was half asleep in the morning, so my head hit the edge of a wall clock in the kitchen. It was for the first time for me. When I touched the place on my head, it was a little wet. My mom's younger sister in law visited my house suddenly in a short time instead of my mom's younger sister at 6 p.m. A plastic bag that had pears and squids came to my hands from her as her present for us. My mom was not home then. My mom walked to a sweet cake shop to buy present near here in thunder at 3 p.m. and had visited neighbor's house for Bon with it. I haven't had enough sleep for this two days, so I went to futon at 9 p.m. tonight. By the way, I have not ridden motorcycle because it was hot these days. July 23 is the day that my motorcycle came to my house last year. I rode it at about 2,500 km a year. I tried riding it on nearby gravel road soon after exchanging tire. I picked a dragonfly that you had also seen on this page up then. Please look at the page of yesterday again. There is an engine guard under the black engine, isn't it? I started hearing the sound that gravel hit the engine guard as soon as I rode it on that road. I like looking at raising a cloud of dust on the mirror by the tire behind the motorcycle, but I love listening to the sound that the engine guard was hit bygravel as well. But old tire did not have plenty caramel blocks on it, so theycould not catch the gravel, and they could not throw them to the engine guard. That's why basically I do not like a motorcycle that do not have an engine guard in kinds of off road motorcycle. There are few off-road typemotorcycles that have an engine guard lately as new model, though. If I buy big motorcycle, I will buy type of Alps Roader. ( AUG/20) photo

This morning was cloudy today, but it cleared up, although it was be able to be called sunny day but it had a lot of clouds. So it returned to cloudy at 3 p.m. I woke up about 6 a.m. I was very sleepy. I drove my mom to town at 10 a.m. she got together with her nieces to hold a meeting once a month. After she got off the car, she got into the bank to take her saving out of the bank to join the meeting. She walked to supermarket to buy present of Bon after the meeting, and she walked to her brother's house to visit and my sister's house, too. She was sent to my house by sister at 4:30 p.m. My sister was chatting with us until after 5 p.m. and she went to back home. I went to sleep at 0 a.m. ( AUG/19) photo

I woke up at 5:30 a.m. I sent my mom to nearby temple by car at 9 a.m. Basically today was cloudy. I watched TV drama tonight, too, and I went to futon at 0 a.m. By the way, please look at this picture, too. This big dragonfly is called Oni-yanma. Oni is ogre. They are flying around my house, so we can see them often in summer. They catch big insect and eat. They should look like Apache of military helicopter for their attacked insect in cloud like this. It can stop in the air like helicopter. It tends to fly horizontally, so we see it that fly low horizontally often. And it tends to go into the house. I think they might be interested in living house. Anyway, when I picked it up, it was dead already. But it looked that it had just been dead. And I put it into a hip-bag to take it to my house. The shell of larva of dragonfly around next room may be Oniyanma. It is one of kinds of biggest dragonflies in Japan. It has a ruler like tiger pattern. ( AUG/18) photo

Today was cloudy, but it was hot in spite of that. I woke up at 5 this morning. My stomach is very nice. I took Bon stand and lanterns apart to pieces to put into each box, and put them back to the hut this morning. By the way, an extension cord that has six outlets for PC broke suddenly at 9 a.m. It was made in Korea, I bought it in October 2000 at $5 at store. It had a switch with a lamp, but the red plastic cover of the lamp was broken at the base of that. But I thought I could use it if it was at ON position, so I changed it to other one that I bought last year. It has six outlets and each switch with lamp. And broken one was moved to the place that had been for new one. It is working for the Internet, broadband router and ADSL modem now. I watched the soccer game to go to Germany next year at the first position, Japan to Iran on TV last night. Japan won to Iran 2 to 1. | POWEFUL EARTHQUAKE |

I woke up by a slight stomachache at past 0 a.m. I tried to go to bathroom, my mom left a light on in the living room. There was a turtle under the light despite at midnight. It might have been a better way that I had a stomachache. I had heard her saying something from down stairs last night. So I thought she could not turn off the light because the string of the light snapped. I brought a cushion and a blanket with me to the living room to sleep there after the first visiting bathroom. After all, I visited there five times that night. As the third times of that, I threw up twice suddenly there. I had to visit there twice after that. So I could have to get a slight sleep. After that, my mom got up to go to a bathroom at 3 a.m. I could not go to sleep again after that. Anyway, she and I visited my dad's ancestors' grave at 6:30 a.m. and came back home at 7 o'clock. There was a powerful earthquake at 11:46 a.m. since Jun, 2003. Our damage by that was the dropping dad's mortuary tablet from the top stairs of Bon stand, but it was not broken at all, and most dolls of souvenir fell down in the case. Even the old wall clock was not stopped. When the earthquake was, I was in my room, so I held something on the bookshelves in my hands not dropdown, because whenever there is a powerful earthquake, those things dropped down to the floor easily. By the way, there is a shell of dragonfly, but I have seen a larva of a dragonfly once over five years ago near there, when I was cleaning up waterway for a spring by shovel, I found it under this concrete over. At first I thought that "What is this?" but it should have been larva of dragonfly that was the strange insect at such place. And then like this, I found it and I got it that it was dragonfly. I woke up at 5 a.m. Basically today was a rainy day. It was raining heavily until 3 p.m. I drove my mom to houses hat was the first Festival of the Dead after theirs death below the bridge at 11:30. She walked her parents' home after that in the rain, and she was sent to house by her niece at 6 p.m. I went to futon at 8 p.m. to sleep. But I had a slight stomachache then. Maybe I thought it was by eating hot noodles after cold beer. I woke up 10:30 p.m. naturally and listened to the radio" Business English" and got into sleep again. ( AUG/15) photo

I woke up at 6 a.m. The sky was cloudy. It started raining heavily at 10 a.m., but stopped falling at 11 a.m. The sky also was covered with dark clouds after that. And it started raining heavily again from 5 p.m. That's why it was bad weather today despite of Bon vacation. I have been in home all day long. Basically the weather is bad in this vacation for persons who came back home in countryside. That's too bad. By the way, as you know, you could see sumo wrestler's body yesterday here, but you can see my body today. So this is me. I am in a new tank top. I was on the passage of narrow second floor because there was an organ on it. It was my sister's. She took lesson organ to platy when she was in elementary school. But I am like this picture usually, because I have round-shouldered back. We say it is "back of cat" in Japanese. This is not round-shouldered another picture like physical labor workers. | BON FESTIVAL |

I woke up at 5 a.m. naturally this morning, too. Bon is from today for three days. It was better that I prepared for Bon yesterday it was raining during in the morning. What is Bon? On August 13,14,15, we celebrate "Bon" that is the festival for the dead. Each family burns a welcome fire and receives the spirits of the dead at the evening on July 13. Of course, my mom did so, too. My dad should have come back home tonight by the fire as a guide. He would stay home for three days in my house from tonight. We celebrated Bon with a big dinner and happy reunions. So Bon and New Year's Day are always happy times, because all the members of each family can gather together in Japan, especially in countryside. We are given short vacation twice a year by workplace. So when I was in Tokyo, I used to comeback home in the vacation twice a year. My mom and I went to the nearby supermarket at 2:30 p.m. I bought a motorcycle magazine, and a textbook for a radio English program at a bookstore next door. She bought a bag of sweet for her husband to give them at his grave. We visited dad's grave after shopping at 3 p.m. There was an only car of ours at parking. I was glad because there were hardly persons. We got back home at 3:30 p.m. We had udon, noodles in the bowl with soup, for dinner. My mom was watching male marathon in Helsinki, Finland, on TV last night until 10:30 p.m. By the way, today's picture is from my car. I saw their exercising for the first time. I think there are two tires of truck to pull for exercising on this ground. They visited there from Tokyo, and have been staying the center for two weeks to sumo exercise to be stronger. I think this public hall was a school in old days, because that has a large garden like this. This is a street along the center, there is a supermarket, A-coop Matsukawa by agricultural cooperative the opposite side of that. They should come to this store for shopping everyday. (AUG/13) photo

I woke up at 5 a.m. My mom already got up, she was cleaning up in my house for coming up Bon She went to the nearby temple at 9 for Bon after breakfast, and came back home about noon. I was preparing Bon this morning. I took Bon things out of a lumber room, and put together them. I prepared all what I could prepare for Bon in the morning. And I went to DIY store by car at 1 p.m. I bought video cassettes. And my car insurance was renewed after an interval of a year. I came back home at 2 p.m. then. Today was cloudy and cool. So my mom walked to the field at 3 p.m. to harvest crops because she would not be able to go to there during Bon. It started drizzling from 4 p.m. as I had said to her. I went to there to pick her up at 5:30 on time, and we came back home. My sister came to my house with a bunch of flowers and other Bon things at 7 p.m. after her job. She went back her home from the entrance soon. By the way, my mom was one of passengers on the Ofunato Line and got off the train at Ichinoseki station yesterday, though. According to local evening TV news yesterday, a carrier fighter of the US from the Pacific Ocean dropped off a few bombs on the station on July 11, 1945, it was just 60 years ago, 28 persons, mostly station employees died by the attack. But the US dropped handbills from a fighter beforehand. So a train that should have left at 8:35 a.m. left from the station earlier on the Ofunato Line by a station master, by the handbill. If the train had left from the station on time, the train should have been got a terrible damage by the bomb. That's why a lot of the train's passengers were been able to survive by them. I woke up at 4 a.m. I must have woken up so early because I had to send my mom by car. We left home at 7 a.m. to drive her to next city, Higashiyama to exercise sumo wrestling. She loves seeing sumo. We got to there in 20 minutes. They were already exercising. This time was thethree times, but I saw it for the first time this morning. She seemed to be in day off, so left for a nearby beauty parlor soon without meeting me. He borrowed my PC at next door, and looked fora way how to capture a new video game that he got these days. He brought the video game DVD and Sony PS2 too in his rucksack, he connected PS2 to TV in the living room, and came and went again andagain between the next room to the living room to tri it. 1 hours later, when he was in the living room, a telephone rang, and picked it up at 10:30. It was from his house, it seemed to get a call from his teacher. You know, there is a day that we have to go to school once or twicein summer holiday for a month. Yes! Today was the day! He has forgotten it at all. He looked a serious boy more than I thought, if I were him, I would not go to school, but he said that he tried to goto school, so I was his uncle, and tried to drive him there. But then, the telephone rang again, it was from his mom. She business was justover. Good timing for us. She came to my house to drive her son to school again in 5 minutes. A calling came from my mom, too at 11 a.m.at Shibajuku railroad station. She was sent there by a kindly young girl'scar. There was a sumo meal restaurant near the station. I was going togo there to pick her up again, but she said that she was going to get back home by train, so I did not need to go there. And I got her call at3 p.m. "I am in the supermarket now. I would like to pick me up at 4:30after shopping. Will you come here? " I went to there for her at 4:30. I went to futon after watching TV drama "Train Man" tonight, too. (AUG/11) photo

I took it when I woke up at 5 a.m. It has been raining in this early morning, too, since last night, so my mom did not go to the field. It stooped falling by 8 a.m. I changed old water to new water for turtle as daily work this morning, too. It was cloudy and cool all day long today. So I was comfortably. I ate my mom homemade pancake filled in bean jam for lunch at 3 p.m. And we ate her homemade inari sushi, flavored boiled rice wrapped in fried bean curd, for dinner at 6 p.m. And I went to futon at 10 p.m. By the way, I will let you explain about this cave more after this. You know, there is a railroad over the entrance of this cave. It is the Kamaishi Line of a local line. A diesel-electric locomotive is running on the line. When we got out of Byakurendou, we heard the sound the train reached to the railroad station near there, the place was so in the mountain that I could not see the figure, though. We also did not see earl Dracula in the cave in spite of that, but my nephew has worn a T-shirt printed a bat there. When I got into and tried to get out of the Roukandou by company trip in September 1986, we heard the amazing sound from over our head, so of course they did, they were surprised by that, but only I was so cool, because I knew there is a station near there. I remembered I explained them "The Kamaishi Line is over your heads. It must be running train over our heads now." The station name is KamiAlice, means upper Alice. Maybe it is an unmanned station, but I think it sounds good. You can get into the cave by only five-minutes walking from the station. So you can get into the cave easily without car or car license. Please look at today's picture once again. There is a flat ground over the hall of this cave, isn't it? Anyway, my nephew had a cell phone, so he tried to make a call there. But there was in so deep mountain that it could not get wave from anywhere at all as I thought. And I made him try to make a call after we got into the cave. I wonder what I did today. I forgot it. Maybe I did anything. I was staying home except for taking my mom to end from the field by car. I woke up at 4:30 this morning, too, and I also drove to the field for her this morning at 5a.m. and I went to there to pick her up at 8 a.m. By the way, I have never eaten running fine noodles, but I have never eaten abalones that she loves, too. It is her best favorite food. She grew up at seashore of the Pacific Ocean. Sound of her name means "cape" too, and also three capes. I wonder if I can eat it like her when I can eat it. That's because I am a "(Learning) English Man." Have you ever eaten it? We think we cannot eat it rarely in Japan because it is too expensive. Of course, I have never come to in my mouse. By the way, today's picture is, but it is about Byakurendou. It is near Roukandou, about 10 minutes walking. But we have to walk on uphill slope, and they did not take care of that, so it was rough around there. On top of that, we certainly heard strange sound twice, near the entrance and near the exit each once outside of both of the cave. It was weird cave also included around there. Anyway, I saw a flying bat near exit for the first time, and saw it soon again. But we were feeling there was a nasty smell around there then. When we were approaching to the exit, we saw a large group of bat on the rock. Of course, it was for the first time for us, and we thought it was a world in science TV or horror movie. But it is over us as reality. They are chatting "kyuwa kyuwa." The nasty smell was so strongest there that I was sure that it was by the bats, their piddle and droppings. I took a picture of that for my web page, but I had to use a flashlight to take it, so I was scared that they would try to fly all together. So I take a picture carefully, and we tried to walk under the bats, so my nephew at over there shouted to make them fly to make us be surprised. Today was cool day after a long time. It was cloudy from morning, but it started raining from 11 a.m. and stopped falling at after 1 p.m. However, it was raining early evening, and started falling heavily from 8 p.m. this night, too. It was so cool that I could be in my room today. I was lying on tatami mat in my room in the daytime after a long time, and I carried futon from downstairs at last, I could sleep on futon since the day of drying futon under the sun tonight. Anyway, I woke up at 4:30 this morning. And my mom already woke up and out, so I asked to her, “Do you need a ride?” I drove her to the field soon, and I went there to her up at 8 a.m. By the way, there was a big news of Japan today. The prime minister Mr. Koizumi dissolved the House of Representatives because of rejection to his postal services bill. By the way, today's picture is, but there are many bamboo pipes, they are for running thin noodles with water. We catch it with chopsticks to eat, and we put them into a cup filled with soup stock. There was a tiny pond under the bamboo, so I think the water is running into the pond. There were many fishes in the pond, but a fish was dead. I heard Heizaburou has eaten it before here. I woke up at 6 a.m. My mom was already out, went to a temple to clean dad's grave for approaching to Bon, and went to the field to work. She came back home at 7:30. And she walked to neighborhood to give celebration money for a children portable shrine. I heard the sound with Japanese drum they were approaching to us. I did the laundry twice after meal for an hour. I took a nap from noon to 2 p.m. in my room. I could not believe myself that I could sleep for two hours in hot without waking up once. I turned on the radio soon. But after that, we started hearing thunder from 3 p.m., so I went to the field by motorcycle to close the door of a vinyl house instead of mom, but it started raining on the way to there. But the sky was not covered with dark clouds, so I went to a drugstore. I bought four pouch-packed curries, and packed two trunks, because some of my underwear trunks were in tatters. When I tried to do the laundry, I took off T-shirt that I wore. Then I took out a new tank top from the wardrobe, and put it that was new and white on. It was given me a long time ago, so it was sleeping from then there. I hardly wore it these days because of like old man-looking. But I tried wearing it, it was very tight, so I noticed that even I was so sexy. By the way, this is a picture after getting out of the cave. We sat on a bench in front of the cave to take a rest, helmet room behind mom. I bought a can bottle of Fanta Grape by this vender machine before leaving there, but it said "050724" on it, as best if used by July 24, 2005. But not problem, and there was a tiny label on it. It said for "Athens 2004Olympic Games" too. I was a lucky because rare thing hit by now. It was to be great souvenir for this trip for me. Today was very hot day, too. I woke up at 4:30, and I turned PC on, and when I turned it off, a thermometer in my room at 8 a.m. said it was already over 30 degrees. I went to the field to mom up today at 8, too. I was so boring that I went to nearby supermarket by scooter at 11:30. I bought curry bread, four cups of Glico ice cream, potato chips, two cup-noodles, and a can bottle of Pepsi Twist by Sharapova I drank it for the first time this afternoon. As I came back home after 12, I gave my mom one of them. It was very hot this afternoon so I went into the basement to get cool. At first, I used PC for the Internet, but I turned it off soon. I have been doing net surfing, but it was boring for me these days, so I feel like doing real surfing at the seashore. I cannot swim, though. I would like to visit to Hawaii to surfing. Okamura who looked like little monkey was doing volleyball on the beach, though, I wonder if he can do surfing. Anyway, I laid an aluminum ladder on the concrete floor there, and put corrugated cardboard on it to lie. My laid body was on the cardboard for two hours, and could take a nap, too. By the way, this is a picture I took before just going into the cave, but cold strong wind was blowing from cave in front of the entrance. So my nephew was pretty surprised by that cold wind like this. There was a thermometer on the entrance, but it said only 8 degrees! It was 25 degrees outside then. There is a temperature difference 17 degrees. So cold strong wind was blowing from the cave to outside by that. But it was like a counterblow for us. He put a Ferrari sweatshirt that I gave on soon after this, he was given it from his mom's rucksack. I knew it was only at around entrance, so I had been in T-shirt. However, there was not cold wind in the cave, but air temperature was 8 degrees whenever we were in there like in winter. (AUG/6) photo

I woke up at 5 a.m. I turned PC on at 6:30, and turn it off at 8. But air temperature was already 29/84 degrees then. Then I went to the field to pick mom up at once. Today was the hottest day in this summer. According to a local meteorological observatory, it was 36.1/ 97 degrees. My futon was been out of my room to dry. They were getting hot sunshine under the sun from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They must get sunburned. But it kept too warm even night, so I did not use these futon to sleep this night. I used a big food cover to sleep from this night. I bought it at DIY store today, because I had thought that I had tried to use it as a mosquito net since before. It is on the kitchen table usually. But I think it is be able to use for baby as mosquito net. That's why I could sleep this night comfortable with it. Whey don't you use it like me? I mean, you do not have to breathe in the bad smoke for our health of electric mosquito mat. So I went to the DIY store by car at 11 a.m. I bought it, a net of screen door, and a box of video-cassette tape etc. It was worn and torn from a few days ago, so I repaired one of the old screen doors to a new mesh in hot at 1 p.m. It was very warm, water in a pool for turtle in the living room, so I made the turtle had a quick bath in a big plastic tub by fresh tap water outside. It was swimming in the pool as if it were a lake in the mountain. By the way, let me explain about today’s picture. I took a picture for the waterfall by camera, but there were very quite number of splashes between I and the waterfall like this picture, so it got numberless splashes instead of the waterfall. There is a guide board of the waterfall in Japanese. It says we have to walk 880 m to get to the waterfall. It was too noisy there by the waterfall, 5 m away from there, so I could not talk to each other by normal voice. I noticed very hungry there, so I ate two rice balls there from my sister rucksack, too, and I drank water of pond of waterfall out of my hands because of two rice ball without a drink. We got the end of the rainy season at last today. According to a meteorological observatory, they said the north area of Japan seemed to finish the rainy season. So it was slight cloudy, but it was very hot day. It was very warmly from the morning. I went to the field again to pick her up at 8 a.m. She had harvested six bags of potato. I carried them by scooter from the parking to the hut after coming back home. I had to go into the basement by the heat in the morning. It was the longest time in the basement for me until now in this summer. So I wrote and sent a message to radio station again and again. Especially my right hand seemed to get sunburned, I noticed my right hand's skin peeled in the night. I was glad that I did not go to futon and watched "Train Man" on TV last night until over 11 p.m., because baseball game extended 10 minutes on the same channel. I already set to record the TV drama with video by timer. If I depended on the video for recording, I could not watch the scene last 10 minutes, so I would not have been able to watch the drama that I have been watching from the first perfectly. Then I listened to the radio for 10 minutes after that in futon to listen to Satoeri voice, because she appeared in the drama as Misaki's colleague. (AUG/5) photo

I woke up at 4 a.m. I intend to write my diary for my web site early morning from now on during this month. So I was typing about yesterday drive from early morning. But I got a day off all day after that by that. I kept diary of journey for that drive yesterday morning. I drove my mom to nearby temple to sing Buddhism song with other members noon. I took a pizza, my sister bought at supermarket three days ago, out of the fridge, and warmed it up to eat and ate a half of round for dinner because it was quite old to eat. And I went to futon at 7 a.m. soon. Usually summer makes us lose weight, but I must gain weight by that. There is one of famous Japanese sayings. If you go to bed soon after meal, you would become cattle. By the way, this limestone cave was used for suspense movie in 1977. I knew about that then by newspaper, and I have the article on my scrapbook of newspaper yet. The movie had much horror. The title is "Yatuhaka-mura," ; it means the village where it had old eight graves. Those were for a surviving samurai of a defeated army. There was an armored dead samurai there on the movie. According to this explaining board, Misaki seems to be born in two days after this movie location. I would like to go to Abukumadou in Fukushima, too. That is one of famous caves in Japan. Ryugadou is in Kouchi, too. Anyway, Shoken, who were captured the other day, was chased by Ogawa Mayumi in other cave in this movie. She runs after him in the cave of Akiyoshi. This movie director Mr. Nomura died in this April at age of 85. Not change the subject but, next day, I woke up at 3 a.m. and I drove my mom to the field at 5 a.m. (AUG/4) photo

| OUR DRIVE |

I woke up at 4 a.m. My sister and her son came to my house at 6 a.m. to go to a cave together. They and my mom left for there by car that I drove at 6:30. It was cloudy. And I was lost because of my mistaken idea. So my car was climbing the smoky mountain on narrow road. We got at the highest point on a mountain road at 7:30. We took a rest there. And we were driving at the smoky cattle farm in the mountain. We reached at a limestone cave at 9. I have been to there twice. but going there was after an interval of 20 years. Our entrance fee for four was $30. We put a free rental helmet on each head. My mom put a free poncho on, too. We went into the cave, and we reached at the end of the cave in 45 minutes. There was a marvelous waterfall there. We ate a rice ball that my sister bought at store and brought there. There was not other sightseer at all. When we were walking to come back to entrance, we met two sightseers who are going to go to the waterfall at near entrance, though. I and mom and sister taught them about a journey of this cave. We got out of the cave at 10:30. Then we felt for Kamaishi, Ofunato. Their city are along the Pacific Ocean. We called at sea at a peninsula of Sanriku to see sea at 1 p.m. We were afraid that it was a slight cloudy. There was fog on the sea. But it was cool, so we were comfortable. We were there for 40 minutes. We left there, and got into a roadside restaurant along the Route 45 in the mountain at the city have for lunch at 2 p.m. Then we left for my house, and we got to my house at 4 p.m. Only I drove my car at 270 km. I woke up at 4:30. I turned PC on at early morning after a long time. I used to get up and turn it on every early morning until three years ago. It was a fine and hot today, too. I drove my mom to a clinic for eyes at 1:30 p.m. I dropped her off in front of the clinic, and I went to a self-service gas station. I visited it for the first time. It opened this spring. I filled up the tank since this May. I drove it at 300km for four months. 65km/month. The mileage was 124 yen/L. I could not check air pressure for tires because they did not have that machine. So I checked them at parking after coming home. Then I went to the clinic to wait her at 2 p.m. I was reading local newspaper to wait her at a waiting room from 2 to 3 p.m. We came back home after at 3 p.m. (AUG/1) photo

I could go to sleep at last at 12:30 last night, though I woke up at 4:30this morning. I did laundry before going to the field this morning. I went to the field to pick my mom and four bags of potato up at 8 a.m. She left for there at 4:30. It was too narrow to my house by the car, so I carried them twice by scooter from the car at parking. We could have breakfast before 10 a.m. at last. I was boring at home, so I tried to ride motorcycle today, too. I decided to go to 100yen shop after a long time by that. I bought 14 things at two stores. But when I came back home on gravel road below the bank of the river, I found dropping a shopping bag down on the ground from the carrier. Luckily I noticed when it had just dropped. But it had an elastic cord that bound the bag on the carrier, I had bought at 100yen shop last year, around center rear wheel. I came back home before 2 p.m. Of course, I put a T-shirt and a black cap with a goggle on today, too. It was too hot today, too. By the way, my mom snapped a key of the hut this early evening. I pulled a half key left there with difficulty. But it was too difficult work, I tried to pull out it with tweezers again and again, so I had to take a long time, so my legs and feet were bitten at some points by mosquito. By the way, I updated my web page at early evening every day, but it is too hot even that time, so I will try update next early morning for PC from August unless it was cool day that day.
