| SKING GOGGLE |

It was hot today. It was raining heavily at 4 a.m. but it stopped falling after that. I rode scooter to put a card into a box of a clinic for my mom after 8 a.m. I drove her to the clinic at 10:30. I put my head on a cap helmet when I ride it near here because full-face helmet is hot. But as I ride motorcycle, my eyes hurt by the wind despite wearing glasses. So I looked for a goggle in the lumber room after that this morning, because I was wearing contact lenses, so I could put a white goggle on when I rode off-road motorcycle, Yamaha XT250 20 years ago. I could not look for it there, but I found another goggle there instead of that. It was for skiing goggle that I bought 20 years ago. But it was black. My cap helmet is black, too. And I can use it wearing glasses. So I decided to use it soon when I ride motorcycle. I tried it, but it was very good as I thought. A wind did not almost come to inside. I could open my eyes just a little until now by the wind, but I could open my eyes ordinarily by the goggle today. The white goggle was Scott, but skiing black goggle is Swan made in Japan. I found a big dead dragonfly up on the country road and picked it up, and it put into the waist bag. I came back home at 12:30 soon because I was going to pick my mom up. But she walked to come back home in sweat, then she got to here at 1 p.m. There is a good news. I heard that she was not diabetes from her. By the way, according to the old map, I remembered about that, I seemed to ride an on-road-motorcycle, SuzukiGSX400E from over there in 1984 there. It was rough road then, too, but I did not think it was like that. I did not have any map just last Saturday, I thought I rode it on that rough road that was Route 343, though. (JUL/30) photo

| EXCHANGING TIRE |

I woke up at 5:30 naturally in spite of that, but I went to sleep 11:30 p.m. IBM PC display got well this morning at 8 a.m. It had a slight red screen like in twilight from last month. VGA cable contact was bad. And I exchanged a front tire for my motorcycle today, too. Exchanging of tire is after an interval of 20 years. I had exchanged both tires for Yamaha DT125, off-road model. I almost forgot exchanging tire, so at first I did not find what I do. My motorcycle was put new Bridgestone tire TW302 on by me because it put Bridgestone TW301 on as a rear tire. But it put Dunlop tire as a front tire by old owner. So it has worn different tires at front and rear. When I took a front wheel off, I looked at brake shoe. It still had 3 mm. I cleaned the front brake inside. Then it was to be great feeling by just working. I have been worried about that bad feeling since I bought it last August. My mom's nieces, who were sisters, came to my house to pray my dad at 2:30 p.m. I drove them to their family house at 3:30. Anyway, it was fine and hot day. | DEATHDAY OF MY DAD |

Today is a deathday for my dad. He passed away just eight years ago. My mom and I visited his grave in nearby temple with flowers and some sweets by car at 6:30 this morning. My father's younger brother and his wife who were living near there had already visited there before we came. I ate a banana there that we brought and give him because crows come to eat it. Then we came back home at 7 a.m. My mom got up early this morning, and cooked special meal that would give for guests who visited to my house. Some guests visited to my house to pray his altar today. My older sister who already saw Star Wars 3 at the theater three times, my mother's niece, her sister, and my nephew. He came here after club activities of school by his mom's car at 4 p.m. They went back their house at 5 p.m. By the way, a new front tire for my motorcycle arrived to my house by deliveryman of Black Cat at 1 p.m. It was a fine day and comfortable today. | MOWING GRASSES |

It was raining heavily until 9 p.m. last night by typhoon No. 7. It seemed to rain early this morning. But when it approached to here most at 7 a.m., when it passed through away at over 200 km over the Pacific Ocean from the port of Kesennuma, it was not raining already. There was not a strong wind this typhoon. Luckily there was little damage by this typhoon for us. It was cloudy early this morning, but it started clearing up from 10 a.m. My mom said that she was going to mow grass with an electric mowing machine by herself at the parking at having breakfast. I said to her that I would try to mow there instead of her. First I went to the field at 11 a.m. today, too to mow grass before mowing there. Our mowing machine and a bamboo rake was put on the seat of the car because they were too long that if they put into the trunk. It was always blowing by the typhoon over the field when I was there, so I felt very comfortable. There were a lot of tiny tree frogs on the bank of the field when I was mowing, but I waited until they ran away from there. I found one of tiny frogs again and took a picture for that after mowing. It was as small as nail of thumb. They were a lot there a month ago. I came back home at noon, and I mowed grasses at the parking soon. That's because some guests will come to my house tomorrow. That's why my mom said that she wanted to go to a supermarket near here for shopping. I drove her there at 14:30 and dropped her off there and only I came back home because her shopping was too long. There was a call from her at 4 p.m. I went there soon to pick up. She took a shopping plastic basket with her there by my suggestion instead of given plastic bag. When we put them into the trunk, we felt it was very useful. We came back home at 16:20.By the way, the upper cow seems pretty happy by coming me because she swishes its tail swinging like this.. | AT FIELD |

I woke up at half past 5 this morning. And the ground in the garden was wet, but it was not raining, so I rode scooter to take out the trash to a neighbor hut at 6 a.m. My mom said to me in the breakfast that she was going to go to the field after meal to harvest crops, though, she asked me to come to the field to pick her up at 11 a.m. I answered her the asking "OK." But it started raining about from 10 a.m. I think it was raining by typhoon No. 7. It is heading for Japan. According to TV weather forecast, it should be approaching here most tomorrow morning. Anyway, she already went there, and today was better than tomorrow to dig them for us. I was going to go to there at 11 a.m., but I made up my mind to go to there soon. I put rainwear and long rubber boots on and got in the car and left for the field. When I got to there, my mom was already wet through from the rain completely. She seemed not to take rainwear there with her. She put a straw hat on her head only, but she did not use an umbrella that she took. She harvested three bags of potato and a bag of leek, so I put them into the trunk of the car. They were muddy. But it was not problem at all for me. She was muddy, too. She got into the car and sit down her reserved seat, and I sit down to the driver's seat as I put wet rainwear on. We came back home at half past 10. I took a bath from the morning. By the way, I found a 100yen digital watch stopped after coming back home. I think it was to be a flooded watch. There was dropped water in the watch screen. But we were lucky. It usually was put near meters of my motorcycle, but I lent the watch to her before leaving home because her watch was expensive I had given for her before. And she has lost her 100yen watch once that I gave. There was no word on the liquid crystal screen and it was muddy, too. I tried to open the back cover to take it apart on the desk in my room after taking a bath. Then there was some dropped water in the watch inside. But as soon as I dried the inside with a tissue paper, there was a time on the screen again at once, it returned to the right watch again. I gave Glico ice cream from the fridge to my mom who was watching TV before typing these. By the way, do you remember there were white or black round things filled with something at this side of the picture? They are filled with pressed grass by tractor with attachment for cow feed. I tried to walk to the place where cow were a lot as the picture of yesterday. But I was surprised because there were these two heads of cow at near right side suddenly. So I turned my digital camera toward them instead of cow group. I also feel like eating it after this update. (JUL/26) photo

Typhoon No. 7 is approaching to Japan. According to TV weather report, it would approach nearest here on July 28. So it was cloudy all day long. I went to futon at 9 p.m. last night. And I slept for 9 hours. I did not know why, but I felt there might be a slight headache in my head.　I drank a can beer (0.5 liter) with my mom last night that I bought at supermarket yesterday. When I got up, I felt the right waist ache. I thought that it was by the road-cleaning work last morning. I was glad a little because it came to the next day. Usually if a man gets age, it comes to the body over three days later. My head was not good feeling after short sleeping, so I ate a doughnut that I added to a basket of my mom at supermarket a little early as a lunch in spite of that, I had tempura that my mom cooked this morning as breakfast, though, because I wanted to take a cold medicine as a pain killer at 11 a.m. I felt sleepy and slept for a short time, then, luckily it was gone away. While I was in the futon by a slight sick, my mom was mowing at the side of the mountain in front of my room by a sickle this morning. I noticed that some golden-rayed lilies were blooming there by her mowing. I think that it bloomed this morning. It is blooming beautifully. (JUL/25) photo

| CLEANING DAY |

I woke up at 4:30 this morning. Today was Road-cleaning day in this city. All of citizen had to join the work. Our neighbors and I got together and stated to work to clean and put the road in good condition on the only neighborhood road at 6 a.m. I came back home at 7 a.m. It was cloudy and chilly this morning, but it cleared up this afternoon. So I left home by motorcycle at just noon today, too. I rode it on road of rice field mainly. My motorcycle ran at 32 km for an hour, and I came back home at 1 p.m. I think that I tried to exchange a front tire of the motorcycle by myself. You know, I am a poor old boy. If it asked the work to motorcycle store, he said to me that I have to pay him $100 at the store. But if I did the work myself, it was only $50 that was tire cost. I had better exchange tire myself once, because it would be terrible if I got a flat tire outside suddenly, so it was better way that I practiced at the garden before it. You know, I have exchanged tires of an off-road motorcycle 20 years ago. Off course, I am going to order a new tire on web store shortly. I would exchange tire this Spring, but the engine broke before that and I spent extra money. And I heard tire would rise in the price from September 1, because oil price has been going up. By the way, I drove my mom to a nearby supermarket at 10 a.m. so I also got into the store and bought a box of beer and a lunch box stuck on the box as the present and that my favorite cup ice cream, Glico, two. | SHORT TOURING |

There were a lot of clouds in the sky today, but basically I think it was a fine day today. It was not too hot, so it was just a nice weather to ride motorcycle. That's why I thought I tried to ride it today. I left home at just noon without my destination. When I was riding it on the road along the Kitakami river, I thought I tried to go to a self gas station to fill up the tank, despite enough gas, because gas is the cheapest around there at the station. The gas tank received 3.6 liters to fill up. 120 yen ($1.1)/L. It was too early to come back home, so I tried to ride it around there without my destination again. Then I met cow by the road in the mountain for the first time this year. And I chose to ride it on the off-road that was a national road until seven years ago. But it was quite rough than I thought, so I had to return back the way I had come. I felt that my right pinky had got a thorn when I turned back. Anyway, I came back safely at 2 p.m. at last. I rode it for 84 km without a rest today. It was my fault not to take a map and a bottle of water with me. Hiroko's daughter felt a big earth quake in the satellite studio, and I felt the same earth quake, too, a minute later. It was not by a earth quake, but I dropped my digital camera on the board floor in my room through carelessness from the waist porch as soon as I came back to my room. But luckily it got no damage. | NEW STORE |

I woke up at half past four once, but I slept at half past five again, and woke up at 7 o'clock again. It was cloudy today, so the sky has been covered with dark clouds all day, it started raining after 3 p.m. at last. My mom is going out today to town. I drove her to the nearby clinic at 8:20 a.m. because she would have an examination of diabetes at the suggestion of the doctor. So she did not have a meal this morning despite cooked salad on the table by her. Anyway, she took her umbrella, but she could give me a call to ride a car from now on. She was going to walk to a town after the inspection. She would have really liked to try to go to a store that opened yesterday. The store was one of the biggest　supermarket chain Daiei's stores in Japan until three years ago, but we were afraid that it was closed three years ago. The store started again as for citizen and farmers' store yesterday. I heard the store was selling many vegetables that were taken around this city now. When I was a first-grade pupil, the store was the biggest department store in this city. I remember that we were drawing the department store in front of the store in drawing and manual arts class. I was given stationery and a pencil case etc by my mom before I entered the elementary school at the department store. However, the department store was on fire when my sister and I were on the mom's mother's field to dig potato in the year. We saw the black smoke from the town there. According to my sister, it was on the last day of the year. The department store was always crowded by many customers until then, but the store began declining since the big fire. By the way, I watched TV drama "Train Man" that I was interested in last night, too, but I heard there was another tiny birthday party for Ms. Hasegawa at a classroom at Mt. Green yesterday except for Hiroko's daughter's. Her birthday was next day, though. She was given a birthday party and singing "Happy birthday dear Kyoko." I think Tomoko was given a birthday cake and presents form Hiroko and so on last night. A big present for Hiroko is what her daughter gets marry, I think. It must be for my mom, too. When I woke up at 6 a.m. it was raining. It began raining from 10 p.m. last night. It has been raining at present yet. So it was rainy day all day. My mom went to the nearby temple as one of Buddhism singing members at 9:30 this morning in the rain. But she did not come home yet at 3 p.m. I have been in my room all day. I intended to be going to a hut in neighborhood in this early morning by scooter to take two plastic bags filled with plastic for recycle out to there. But it was raining in the morning and there was a road works near my house, so I could not go there by even car. It is a little cold today. Cicadas do not sing today. I remembered today was the birthday of Hiroko's daughter a few minutes ago. There will be a birthday party for her tonight. By the way, this is a pumpkin baby in my garden on today's picture. I woke up after 5 a.m. My mom had gone to the field to work this morning, too. So I went there to pick her up with a bunch of rice straw that she asked me at 8 a.m. It was fine and hot this morning, but cloudy and still hot in the afternoon. I left home by scooter at just noon. I went to a nearby post office, a bank, a bookstore, and a used bookstore. I bought a textbook of basic English of TV. And I looked for used music CDs for my mom to get cheap them there, but basically the store is running for young guys, so there was not CD that my mom wanted to listen to there. After all, I will look for the CD in the auction site for her. She always bought music new CD or cassette at a fixed price at e CD store in this city when she went to the town. I came back home after 1 p.m. I lay on tatami mat to take a rest in a short time. When my foot put on the mattress just at the moment, "Ite! (Ouch!)" I felt a sharp pain at the right heel. I found around there at once, a little bit sharp broken piece of glass stuck in there. As soon as I pulled it, my heel was starting bleeding. I put red liquid, Mercurochrome Solution, on there soon. It stopped in short time. I applied an adhesive plaster to the wound. Anyway, how come? I could not know the reason of the accident at all. Where did it come from there? Actually, I put sandals on when I rode scooter, of course, without socks. I might have picked it up anywhere and stuck there before I knew. But I have never got the accident like that all my life until now. It was strange accident. I heard Mayuko did wood carving as one of her hobbies. I think she has cut her finger herself by a chisel. My older sister has cut her finger by a chisel when she made a piece of artwork of school for Christmas at home when she was 12 years old. She was bleeding from her finger and it did not stop easily. I woke up at 5 o'clock. My mom had already gone to the field then. I went there to pick her up at 8 o'clock. My sister came to my house at 11 a.m. She gave me a T-shirt ($9) that she bought at nearby drug store. She said to me, "I'm going to a theater to watch Star Wars at 13:35, but do you come with me to see it? I will give you a ticket if you want." Of course, it was for free for me, but I refused her offer because she gave me something for free anytime. She left for the theater at 1 p.m. by her car. It was fine and hot today, too, but it turned cloudy a little from2 p.m. so it was a little cooler than before. By the way, today is the day in a month from the dead day for the light green turtle, named Kimidori Hime.It was dead just a month ago in the morning of June 19. This morning, when I was giving feed to KameKichi (green turtle) before 8 a.m. it did not close the mouse, its mouse kept opened half for a while. I saw that it was for the first time. Actually, in spite of that, but it should not remember about that, or it should not know today's morning meaning, I was surprised if that, the light green one was dead with the mouse like that in that morning.( JUL/19) photo

I woke up at 6 a.m. but I could not sleep very well last night, because it was really hot. Today was really hot, too. Air temperature was 34.1(94) degrees at 11 a.m. I got into the basement to get cool, and I used the Internet there for an hour noon. But the weather turned cloudy in the afternoon, so it got a little cool than morning. By the way, my MD player might be broken a little. A function of MD edit gets error. I wonder if it is by heat. I hope that it gets well myself when autumn comes. Anyway, my mother went to nearby temple this morning, and she came back home and went to the field to work soon at 14:30 despite of hot yet. There was not any ice cream in the fridge, so I would like to eat it especially Glico cup ice cream, but I made a cup of iced coffee myself and drank it. It got a little cooler than usual early, so cicada chorus group are singing together cheerfully around my house in the mountain before 3 p.m. (JUL/18) photo

Today is really hot, too. I had still had a headache this morning, but it was gone away this afternoon at last. So I tried to ride on my motorcycle. I left home at 13:20, and I came back home at 13:50, because it was really hot, especially in my helmet. I rode it almost in the nearby mountain. I wanted to ride it on gravel road. I was in the basement for half an hour to use the Internet noon. But it is still hot in my room, so I am afraid to have to say good-bye to you yet for this PC. My mom was going to go to the field this afternoon, but I stopped her. She made up her mind to go there tomorrow morning. Today is really hot! It was fine today, too. I am in T-shirt and a short pants now. I was in the basement for about an hour to use the Internet noon. It was good for eyes under the stand light as I thought. I had a slight headache from last night. As I woke up this morning, too. I had a stomachache and that by a cold can beer after dinner, because I had so much water yesterday. It was very hot yesterday, so evening cicadas were singing songs together at last from 18:17. They get their job at last. They let us listen to their beautiful cool chorus. Do you know Eminem? I think she knows about them. I know it hardly, but I hear that it is famous hip pop group, and I think they would let us listen to their chorus as well. According to news web site today, one of their tour buses got a traffic accident on July 13 in Missouri. They said that the bus turned over and lay on its side on the free way. According to my diary, a sunny weather all day is since June 30. I dried futon under the sun outside. I drove my mother to a dentist at 10:30 a.m. I came back home soon. I checked my motorcycle after that. I pumped up air to tires, and put oil for chain. I kicked the engine after an interval of 27 days to start. It started after kicking about 10 times. I left home at 12:30. I rode it on the road in the mountain, I came back home at 13:10 after riding for 25 km. It was very comfortable. As soon as I came back home, I heard that telephone was ringing and picked up it soon. It was from my mom. "I'm in the supermarket. Will you come here to pick me up? " I drove to the supermarket soon. I bought a Business English textbook at the bookstore next door. We came back home at 13:30.It was too warm after a long time, so I carried Hitachi PC that was moved to an alcove in my house because it was too humid and no use by cool weather to the basement again. I connected to the Internet by the PC there for an hour. I tried to type a composition in English for my web page, but the PC space was dark, I did not try it. It came back to rainy season after only a half sunny day again. It was cloudy this morning, but it started raining heavily after 1 p.m. But I saw a cicada on the screen door of my room for the first time this year by that. I think it came to there to shelter from the heavy rain when it was flying outside near my house. When I was opening the window to try to take a picture of that for my web page, but it flied away in the rain, because it was surprised with the window moving by me to take a picture clearly. I saw a cicada, but I have listened to their chorus in the early evening hardly yet. They are in the mountain already, but I think they cannot sing a song by this chilly weather. They already begin singing about that times of usual year. By the way, the painkiller attacked to headache in my head yesterday, and it beat off my headache at late last night, and it disappeared from there at last. There is a blue sky in my mind after an interval of three days. And I did not know why, but there was an only big ant around my futon this morning. There was an ant around me in my room even at late night a few days ago. I thought it was night worker, or I thought it lost his way to come back home. I wonder if my body's smell is sweet first. But I found that an ice cream cup that I ate because I had a headache has been left on the desk as I saw some big ants. I looked at this package of the ice cream after eating. The package said that it was made from milk in Hamadori of Fukushima prefecture. This ice cream is my favorite ice cream from last year. I bought it at the drug store because it sold at only that store. So I was really happywhen I met it again at nearby supermarket the other day. Ms. Nakajima Miyuki did not know the meaning about Hamadori or Nakadori when she watched on the TV weather forecast. Hamadori means the road along the seashore. I mean, that area faces to The Pacific Ocean. As Kinki Kidsloves Morinaga Jumbo, Misaki should love this ice cream, too, because she was born and grown there. The ice cream's name "Bokujo Shibori" is " milkeda cow at cow farm" so it is made by thicken milk at farms in Hamadori. It is very good taste for me.　It is $0.9. ( JUL/14) photo

I had been keeping a slight headache, but the sky began clearing up clouds that have been covering over the sky around 11 o'clock. It is a fine and warm day this after noon. I saw a blue sky after a long time. According to my diary, the latest sunny day was since the second of July. I opened all windows around my room to take fresh air. It passed through over me, because I laid on the cushion without a blanket. By the way, when I woke up at 6 o'clock this morning, there were about ten big ants around my futon. It was 1 cm length. I have seen the ant in my room lately. But it was alone. I am afraid that the sky is covered with clouds again. That's all about my news today.　(JUL/13) photo

| SLIGHT HEADACHE |

Today is rainy day. It is a little cold. I felt a slight headache far away in my head this morning. I took a medicine at 10 a.m. because it did not seem to get well, but it seemed to not have a weapon to a headache of mine. So I took a cold medicine as a painkiller to attack to a headache after 1 p.m. again. It is called "S-tac Ace granule." It seems to have a weapon to my headache, so it began getting well as soon as I took it. It is the best medicine for my headache. If I visited to abroad, it would be this medicine with me in the suitcase. As I am fussy about my food like child, I am fussy about my medicine, too. That's why if I went to abroad, I would have to have lots of medicine in my bag. That's because most medicines for a headache are not fit to me even in Japan. I had a cup milk ice cream before this work as a kind of medicine. By the way, I copied a record that I have to MD last night again. I was surprised at that I had another George Benson's record in bookshelves. I found it when I looked for a record there that I would record that night. I thought that I had only his record "Give me the night." It was "The George Benson Collection (1981)", the album jacket is covered over with white paint. It has two records. I sung the song "This Masquerade" with him together last night. I had been singing with the Carpenters as a student in junior high school, too. I could not understand even meaning of "Give me the night" about that time I bought the record. Anyway, I was really happy that I could happen to find the record last night. Can you imagine how happy I am? And I am happy that my headache was gone away. If it had not got well, I should not have written this diary for you here like this. Keep in touch with me easily! I went to my futon at 9 p.m. last night, but in spite of that, I woke up at 7 o'clock. Probably I think it is by a cold killer. It was cloudy today, too, but it was warm after a long time. So I am sweating in a sweatshirt now because I am having a cup of hot tea, so I took off it, I am in only T-shirt now. Of course, as you guess, I was in my room all day long today without lunch, but I ate a half monaka that has left in the fridge, though. Now monaka is not already your mumbo jumbo in Japanese sweets, isn't it? By the way, IBM PC display was not fixed rightly itself automatically, so it showed me twilight despite in the morning. I liked Manhattan Transfer that was jazz chorus group when I was young, such as Twilight zone. I would like to their CDs of then now. I rented their records from rental record store about that time, and I copied it to cassette tape and would listen to their songs by Sony Walkman in commuter train every day. I was a poor boy. Today is also rainy day. So I did not ride motorcycle this Sunday, too. I woke up before midnight because my sole got itch, I thought it was bittenby mosquito that night again, and listened to hard rainy sounds. That's whyI got up and took a bath from that. I came back to my futon and drunk a small can beer there, but I could not sleep at all, so I listened to George Benson by MD that I have just made. I understood meaning of the songs when I saw the paper, but when I listened to the songs without the paper,I could not almost understand meaning of his singing. I mean, it can say that my ears do not get used to listen to song in English even now. Therewas not little instrumental music in disco in those days, but there was　instrumental song by only George Benson there. His scat that fits his playing guitar was really great! Quincy Jones was, too. I like Santana, too. I could not go to sleep more by his playing guitar. Maybe it seemed to makeme go to sleep at 3 a.m. at last. I woke up at 7 o'clock again. I drove my mom to nearby temple in the rain at 9 to be held a Buddhist memorial service with other members. By the way, IBM used 15 inches display thatI got at auction site last year seemed to be broken a little suddenly. It shows me reddish screen. It is just like twilight there. It was no problem when I connected to other IBM 300 PC about four or five days ago. I connected to that PC again, but it showed me the same bad situation aswell. I thought one of the electric guns of the display was broken. It can use to simple check the Internet yet. So I will be putting it on the desk from now on. When I could get a new liquid crystal display for main PC on the desk, Fujitsu 17 inches display that was on the desk would move to the desk instead of that IBM display. By the way, today's sweet is made from one of Japanese traditional sweets, monaka. As you can see, this ice monaka that was made by Morinaga that have Angel mark saysmaybe its name "JUMBO" in Japanese. I think monaka was mumbo jumbofor you just a couple minutes ago, though. As you can see, there is a flat chocolate board in white ice cream. You can see monaka ice cream easilyin ice cooler box at most stores in Japan. It is $1. I woke up at 7 o'clock. It was late for me. Thanks for coming to my diary to see. We have already got into a rainy season about one month ago, so it was cloudy this morning. I drove my mom to a nearby supermarket just noon. My mom went into inside of the store, but I walked to a near bank to print a bankbook, and I came back to a bookstore next to the supermarket. But I was just browsing. And I also went into the supermarket, I put White Stone curry bread, Glico ice cream, shrimp snacks, and a bag of instant fried noodles (5p) and so on. I paid $6 at register. Then I drove her to my father's younger brother's house near the store. My mom entered the home, but I greeted my uncle and aunt in before the house, ice creams that I bought would melt, so only I came back home soon at 1 p.m. By the way, I recorded a part of my LP records to MD at last. According to my memo on the cupboard for CD near record player, I have played 20 LP records since I got a new needle of the record player. On top of that, I got another the same new needle from the same person at auction site the other day. Then her that needle ran out. I am glad that I can keep the needle for a long time to play music records. I can play and listen to 1400 records by two those needles. Last night, I recorded LP of George Benson to MD. It was "Give me the night (1980)" that I bought at record store in Tokyo. He is a famous guitarist, and I liked his music and I used to listen to his records as young. The one of that my favorite records was produced by Quincy Jones. As you know, he is great musician. I liked him, too. I would like his album "The Dude" even now. Many discos in Tokyo were crowded with young people about that time, but we used to hear the songs of the George Benson's at all over there all night long. I thought I could not dance in disco, but I could dance with disco sounds easily naturally despite quite country boy as soon as I got into there. By the way, I was surprised myself that I understand the words of songs of Benson in English. There was not a translation to Japanese, there is a song paper in English in the record, so I could not understand his singing at that time at all. What Quincy Jones wrote was difficult on the paper, but I wonder why I understand his singing easily without dictionary. The music that I liked his playing guitar for the first time was "over the mellow weekend in L.A." as a high school student. Anyway, I was singing with him together last night. ( JUL/9) photo

I woke up at 5 a.m. It was cloudy today, too. I have been staying home all day long, too. My mom went to Buddhism temple to practice song. She went out, and I was boring, so I watched TV at living room from morning. I watched a video that recorded a TV drama "Train Man" last night by a timer. I have not known about her, Misaki, her name is the same as short version of my address. Manami, she likes capybara that is the biggest mouse in the world. I like it, too. I knew that they like taking a hot spring. According to her, capybaras are quite cowardice. But I also like cowardly animal as her. Usually clever animals are gentle and quiet such as big dog than tiny dog. Miho climbed Mt. Kintoki and saw Kintoki Girl who was over 60 years old, I happened to see the too young girl on TV before, but Manami had also walked through a field of the Atlanta mountains a few years ago with an American guide who can speak Japanese. She loves animals, but loves to pick up a large-sized discarded article in early morning despite beautiful actress like a second hand shop owner. I woke up before 6 a.m. It was rainy today all day. I was in my room all day. By the way, we hope this evening sky is fine despite rainy season every year. According to *Tanabata Story,* today, July 7 is called *Tanabata.* Only on this evening, *Hiko-boshi* and *Ori-hime* can meetbeyond the Milky Way. *Hiko-boshi* is the star called Altair, and *Ori-hime*is Vega. *Hiko-boshi*, a herdboy, fell in love with *Ori-hime,* a weaving girl. They were separated on opposite sides of the Milky Way. They were permitted to meet each other only once a year. On Tanabata, we decorate bamboo with colored cards and ornaments. Children write all their wishes on the cards. As you might know by my turtles, Hiko is included in prince name, and Hime is included in princess name as well in old Japan. Boshi(hoshi)is*star* in Japanese. We are afraid perhaps we cannot see them tonight. (JUL/7) photo

I woke up at 5:30 this morning, too. I hope I can sleep more. It was cloudy all day. The sky is covered with dark clouds all day long. I was a bit under the weather today, too. My stomach felt a bit wrong, and felt sleepy. Anyway, some electricity workers by trucks came to rice field in front of my house at 9 a.m. to exchange a transformer on a telegraph pole. That's why some houses around my house were cut electricity from 9:30 to 10:45 again. I lay my body on the cushion and I listened to a pocket radio with a battery during that working to wait that finish. But after all, I have been lying on the cushion all day. By the way, when I turned on PC, I got e-mail from my friend who lived in Tokyo now. I woke up a little by that. (JUL/6) photo

I woke up at 5:30 this morning. I could wake up at late morning after a long time. It was raining as I woke up, but it was stopped and was to be cloudy. Today was a little chilly. I had a lot of washing to do, such as some Y-shirts, so I did laundry for lunchtime for an hour and half. In fact, I would like a new two tubs electric washing machine about $150 because ours was broken half so its power was weak. By the way, according to a local radio news yesterday, Amano Shigeru who was a leader of NSP, a folk song group, passed away by illness on July 1. He was only 52 years old. He was born and grown in this city, and he entered a high school in this city, then he and two classmates got together and made a folk son g group. And they debuted by Yamaha in 1972 as pro folk song group. He was the most famous person in this city at the whole country. My one of two turtles has just died on June 19. And Mr. Masao Ogura who was the president of Black Cat Delivery Service Company also passed away in L.A. on June 30. A bill to privatize a post office that he has been hoping was submitted to the Diet today by the PM Koizumi, and it passed the bill by a narrow margin. By the way, when I passed through under that railroad bridge for super express by motorcycle, and when I happed to pass by around here, I found this black cat that was walking on the middle road slowly. A car that was coming from over there was stopped in front of the cat, and I did slow down my motorcycle, too. I woke up at 2:30 a.m. this morning. It is not when I went to sleep. It was rainy and a little cold today. I have stayed home all day today. But I do not come back to me of before. As you know, today is the fourth of July, a national holyday in America When I studied English myself by radio in my early 20’s, I remembered that I studied "fourth of July" and "Fill up the tank." So I think that I learned English from April until July at least about that time. I noticed about it now. Actually, I put a used denim jacket that my sister gave me about 1981, but there was a printed American two national flags, a independence flag and a present flag on the jacket back, and it said "Happy Birthday America" over the flags. That's why I did not want to put it in a commuter train on that day because I thought Americans tried to talk to me by English after seeing my back at especially SeibuShinjyuku Takadanobaba Station. I woke up 3 a.m. naturally. It was cloudy and chilly today. I visited neighbor house at 9 a.m. again to help them out. We went to a hall at 10 a.m. And we came back their home at 15:30. I came back his home again. I talked with his son’s brothers who I did not know at all there with a bear glass. I came back home at 18:30 with a little drunk.(JUL/3) photo

I woke up at 6 a.m. this morning. I walked to that neighborhood house today again at 2 p.m. to help them out. It was fine day until that but it was heavy rain and thunder for an hour after that. We gave a present bag for each guest. We had a dinner at the house from 18:30. And we left the house, and I came back home at 20:00.However, I was in this PC room from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. becauseit was too warm. By the way, this mouse did not use for this PCthat I bought at DIY store at $7 this year, so I use Iiyama mouseinstead of that. (JUL/2) photo

I woke up at 5:30. It was raining in a short time around that time. It was cloudy all day. I do not have today's news. Anyway, here came to July from today. I heard yesterday by most radios that they said the first half of this year was finished today. So what? Although it also came to me, I am not changed anything. By the way, as you know, the light green turtle, Kimidori Hime, passed away on June 19 suddenly. It came to my house on May 16, and went to another world a just month later of that. They say turtles can live for over 100 years. They have long life. When my mom bought it at DIY store, I wondered if it would have been 99years old. I heard that a pet shop master says like that as a turtle died in Japanese comic story. So it must say that it must have been a great old turtle. There was a big accident continuing for our turtle for those two days. If I could not see the green one, it would have been dead certainly because it could not get water and feed, so when if we could find it, it must been a dried turtle, a mummy turtle, or it was stepped on our feet. I mean, two turtles both might have died for only half day in the worst case. As the winter has come, I thought that it would be dead, but I found a water heater for turtles at DIY store. It was $18. It can keep the water temperature 25 degrees even in winter. My mom seemed very happy as she was hearing the news from me. But we need more electricity cost for that, but their all cost will be paid by her. The lucky green one can survive even in winter by that way without dangerous hibernation. It may be survive for over 100 years than us. I heard from my sister that a young turtle in her home had died after hibernation in the first year. I love a gentle pet like Taroppe, a shell parakeet, that does not run away from the colony. I buried Kimidori Hime next to Taroppe's grave. (JUL/1) photo
