YOUNG FAMILY

It was at 6:30 when I woke up. I could sleep at 6:30. It was fine this morning, but was cloudy this afternoon, but was warmly day all day. Today was a day of the end of April. May is from tomorrow. I am a little bit busy tomorrow because I have to do a renewal of my web page on the first day of the every month. I am sorry, but there is not any my news today too. However, red tulips in the garden began blooming from yesterday. They have bloomed when the spring has come every year. I am happy to see them this year. I remembered there was a happy thing that made me happy last night. I might have been able to sleep until 6:30 this morning because 535's FDD already have got well last night. As you know, 535PChad a trouble with FDD, but it worked out easily after supper last night as I thought. First I opened the case of 535 to fix it. I prepared another FDD before that work because it might have broken. But if it was the worst situation, I would have had to open the BIOS that was too difficult. However luckily again, I pushed all connecters of FDD cable strongly. Then it got well soon easily by only that. But I think it is "no way." I did not touch the PC at all, of course, also inside of the PC too. I was wondering why it broke without a reason suddenly. I sure could use it with the FDD to copy pictures last week. Anyway, I did not use my laptop, IBMCS345 for a long time. According to my pocket notebook, it was on March6 that I used it the latest. So I did not use it like that. But I happened to get a chance to have to use it yesterday. If I did not have a chance to use it yesterday by chance as so far, LAN card would have died rightly. By the way, this picture is a happy young family with their dog that was walking on the bank. When I was taking a picture of the carp streamers before the bank of the river, this family was coming up the stone stairs like me. I found the white dog first, then I tried to take a picture for that, but it took me more time than I had expected to take it by the camera operating, after all, the dog left from me, I took a picture for them from the family's back instead of the dog. That bridge you are seeing now is Kaminohashi Bridge. You can see the riverside that NSP was singing in old days, too. New Sadistic Pink, one of famous folk groups in Japan by college students, was born from this city 30 years ago. And you can listen to the voice of Ohtaki Eichi, a special artist who was bone in the same prefecture Iwate from here as a guest of NHK-FM at before and behind of "Fast Food "too. The high school that he was in was in Kamaishi, but Kamaishi was bombarded from a warship of the US in the Second World War because Kamaishi had the largest steelworks in Japan then. But he loved American old days music. I heard he had lived in an old house for US military officer of Fussa where it bordered on the Yokota air base of the US Air Force in Tokyo. I mean, he lived in the suburbs of Tokyo, but he does not want to go to central Tokyo. That’s why there is rarely a person who can see him in the music industry because he does not want to leave his home like a great salamander. Of course, he should not have regular work. However, he has an only regular work once a year that continues about 20 years. He comes to central Tokyo from his house a couple of times a year in only every January to work. It is a radio program as a guest. He should not appear on TV because he is too shy. So we cannot know except listening to the radio at the first of the year whether he lives in this world even now or not. photo

LAN CARD

I was woken up at 5:30 naturally this morning too. It was fine and warm day today, too like yesterday. However, I was in the house all day despite Golden Week. There is no news about me today until 2 p.m., but I found news to write for my web page. I took a couple of pictures with a toy digital camera, C@mail Bandai, for my news site at 1 p.m. That camera is so old (2000) that my main PC cannot get a picture from the camera with USB cable. I mean, the camera cannot use on XP. But I installed one free software that I looked for in the Internet to be able to use it on XP to FMV 535 as a test. So it can use with only 535 on XP despite a toy camera. But 535's FDD does not work right. There is an icon of that in "my computer," but it cannot recognize an inserted floppy disk. How come? I did not do anything to the PC especially. So it was working right before without trouble. But I want to take some copied pictures out of the PC to main PC with a floppy disk. So I tried to use LAN to copy and take out them. But at this time, there is not a LAN card for laptop PC in the same room at north side. If LAN card is not here, 535 cannot connect to the laptop with LAN cable, so I cannot copy them to a floppy disk with laptop FDD from 535. I really looked for the LAN card for more than 30 minutes. But I cannot find it at all. I looked into piled futon for it, but it was not there, too. I wondered where it went to. I walked between the PC room and my room again and again to look for it. I gave up to look for it once, but I started looking for it again, I opened the window beside the laptop as I was thinking it should not be there. I looked down to the ground as I was thinking it should not be there no way, then, the LAN card was on the ground! No way! Although it was there, I thought it might not already work because of the rain first. I went out of the house and went to the point soon to pick it up. When I picked it up, I saw it might work as usual without test soon because it did not seem to be under the rain. That's why I did not even test for that after getting back the room. I think it was fine and warm day yesterday like today. So my mother sure opened the window of the next room to get wind yesterday. I sure closed the window in the afternoon yesterday. Probably when my mom opened the window, it dropped down to the ground, I think. Luckily it was not raining after that until today. So thanks to 535's FDD that did not work by no reason, my laptop LAN card was been able to survive. If I did not take a picture with the camera, or if FDD of 535 was not a stranger like that, my LAN card would have died rightly. 535 might have helped 345 that was the roommate at the next bed. By the way, this picture that a lot of carps were swimming over the river was taken by me at the riverside of the Iwai, but if there was not the accident of my motorcycle, I would have come here soon. Finally look at today's picture. I stayed there for 40 minutes to check the engine to wake up again. But after all I had to push my bike on the riverside that we have been to as a school trip as a first grader. You see a downhill over there, don't you? I pushed my bike there to the top of the bank by myself. photo

18 YEARS

I turn off the light beside my pillow at 11 p.m. every night, but I woke up at 5 a.m. this morning. Basically, it was slightly cloudy weather today, but it was too warmly day for this season. So I always was putting a padded kimono on until this morning, but I took socks off this afternoon at last like the story "The Sun and The North Wind." I drove my mother to the eye doctor's in front of the motorcycle shop at 10:30. But I did not call at the shop because of no reason. I went to an electrical store after she got off the car to buy MD. I bought a pack of TDK 74 minutes MD (10P). It was 880 yen. I bought it to record old cassette tapes of English education that I got cheap at auction site to MD. TDK was born and growing in Akita Prefecture, next prefecture. When I was on the way home, I saw many pupils in a line were walking at sidewalk from the car. I thought they were on the way somewhere near school. It seemed first graders, but it was a class for all first graders. They were about 40 pupils who carried a rucksack with two teachers at top and end. I liked a school trip best in many school events. I felt like I also wanted to join them when I saw them. I came back home after 11 a.m. Nowadays most elementary schools tend to want to use a bus for school trip, but I think especially schoolchildren in the lower grade should walk in school trip. Look at today's picture, please. When we were first graders in 1967, we came the riverside of bank over there of the bridge in our first school trip. Our budget for snacks of the first school trip was within 50 yen. By the way, yesterday of the last year was the day that my PC broke. Please, read the last year diary from today, because it broke after sending web page of my last diary for my first PC. I bought new PC today of the last year by that suddenly. It is this main PC. Anyway, I remember the day of today of 18 years ago even now. I went to a motorcycle shop by my sister's motor bicycle in early evening, and bought Honda DAX50 manual there. And I also watched "My Mom is an Idol" for the first time on TV. By the way, this is talked about the first earthquake by Erick and Deborah. I heard it yesterday, but as you know, I did a haircut the day before yesterday in the bathtub. In fact, I got only many old cassette tapes in English at auction site, and they reached to my house yesterday. That tape was the oldest tape of all of them. Get Ready for Earthquakes!" was one of the oldest cassette sounds in July 1990. I mean, I started hearing from the oldest one. Erick said, "There was a powerful earthquake in San Francisco in the US, too last year" after this. I remember falling down an elevated freeway in San Francisco by that. Anyway, Erick was like me, he also became a street king like me, of course, Deborah too like me. The day when I was typing about my haircut is the same day when he sent me it. Do you remember the name of Gamera? Turtles and tortoises are called in Japanese "kame." So the turtle monster was named Gamera from "kame." As you know, the sound of Gamera is similar to the sound of camera. By the way, this picture is my scooter meter panel. It said it was 5,566 km (3,480 miles) I rode it Yamaha Aprio (0.05liters) until now for 10 years. photo

I woke up at 5:30. I think there were any clouds in the sky all day long. The sky was sky blue. It was fine and warm day today. But, I was in home all day without going out. I felt like going out somewhere by motorcycle because of this weather. But my motorcycle does not come home yet. It has stayed in a clinic for motorcycle yet. Last night, my mother who was watching TV at the kitchen picked up the receiver. "Hello...Yes.. OK, wait a minute." She came here with the receiver to where I was watching TV in the living room. "Hey, son. This is to you.I think this is from motorcycle shop." She gave me it as she was saying to me. "Hello. This is he." "Hello, good evening. This is motorcycle shop speaking." "Good evening, too." "By the way, I called you now because of your motorcycle fixing." "How did you my bike do?" "I found the reason that stopped the engine at last. I mean, I do not fix it so far yet, because I was going to fix after asking you. The reason was because the ignition system broke." I also thought soon the ignition system was punctured where my bike stopped. "You mean, the key box didn't have a problem?" "That's right. But we would like to ask for 15,000 yen ($145) to fix it to you when you come here to get it again. Only that parts of the machine is 8,000 yen ($75)." "Umm… OK. Please fixit by that. Bye." My motorcycle would be able to run on the road again by this. An old motorcycle needs money to keep. If you have extra money, you should get a new motorcycle. But I was a lucky old boy because my bike broke near motorcycle shop. It should have broken anywhere. By the way, a mosquito came to me as it was buzzing after I turned off the light and went to futon soon the day before yesterday. It was first for the first time. I got into futon without doubt. And when I went out of my house to outside to give an old hum for fox at 7 p.m., some frogs in the rice fields over there were croaking. I heard it for the first time this year. I used to hear a lot of frog's croaking in the bath when I came back home from Tokyo at Golden Week in Japan. I feel Golden Week when I hear it. By the way, there is a frog on the rock in the garden. My mom puts it on top of the rock when spring has sprung every year. It is Gamera-like. She means, I wonder if Gamera looks like Miho's face. But DJ Maki hates any turtles and tortoises. I am wondering if Mayuko like them right now. She is living in Kamakura, so this Gamera is also familiar turtle for her. Gamera that was born in Japan was a kind of turtle monster. The movie that I watched for the first time with my dad and my sister was Gamera at movie theater in summer 1967.I think frogs also started croaking because mosquitoes started flying outside. photo

MY HAIRCUT

Basically it was cloudy today, but cleared up at times around noon. My mother left for a temple in Genbi to practice Buddhism song at 8:30.I heat the bath despite morning and taking it last night. That's because I wanted to do a haircut. As you know, I put a full-face helmet on whenever I ride a motorcycle, and I also put glasses on in the helmet. But when my hair gets long, I cannot put glasses on it easily by many hairs. So I did not go to a barbershop and I tried to do haircut by myself to save money ($15). I am a real challenger like Mr. Noguchi, an astronaut on the active list for Discovery. NASA is going to send him to space as one of top mission specialists from Florida on May 15. I may be a real challenger than him. Because he would not cut his hair by himself. I prepared an electric haircutter that I bought five years ago. But it was a few years ago that I had used it these days. My sister cut my hair instead of me until a year ago for a while after that, so she was my only hairstylist. Then I have been to a cheap chain barbershop in this town for a year after that. It is no problem for me that I can do my haircut myself at all. And I put a cap on whenever I went out these days. Anyway, I got out of my clothes and I took a bath with an electric haircutter. But when I tried to cut my hair, I found the battery got weak there. I did not use for a long time, so I did not know how much amount of electricity the battery had. I knew it for the first time in the bath it did not have enough electricity to work right. I already cut a little my hair with that, so I could not stop the work on the way. I became a street king and I went to a washstand to take an old T razor. I use it since a few years. But I am a real challenger. I had no doubt that I tried to cut my hair with the razor. My eyes are terrible shortsightedness. So I did a haircut by the only finger touch without mirror. Anyhow, if I put glasses on, the mirror would become dim. An hour later, after all, my hair was unevenly cropped by my hand as I thought. But it is OK. Finally I did a last haircut by shears in front of the mirror of a washstand after I went out of the bath. I had cool hairstyle and I came back to my room with a hot cup of coffee at11 o'clock. BIG 4WD

I woke up after 6 o'clock. It was a fine this morning, but changed cloudy this morning. I went to a nearby clinic at 9:10 this morning by my scooter to put her patient's registration card into a box. Then I sensed imminent danger on my way home by 4WD. The 4WD, red Toyota Hilux, came to the road from Lawson convenience store, and it overtook me by 70km/h a space at least only 30 cm between me and the car. I really hate big 4WD cars the worst in all of kinds of cars. Drivers who drive big 4WD cars seem a good-natured man for us, but they are the worst dangerous driver in Japan. They look like a nature man, but they do not protect nature at all, they drove at mountain and on riverside and sand beach recklessly, so that they broke nature and in town, too. . I know they have poor driving technique. On the other hand, generally we hate sports cars, but I do not hate sports cars that big 4WDs. I rather like sports cars than big 4WDs or big wagons or mini-vans. Sports cars drivers rather are gently than them. There are hardly off-road that only big 4WD can run in Japan. They have waste big engine and made much exhaust gas and broke environment. Drive on the Sahara Desert, YOU! We are enough by small 4WD. Of course, I do not off-road bike riders like especially fully equipped riders or imitate American riders who ride American type motorcycle, too. However, I like small 4WD car, Suzuki Jimney and so on. I came back home at 9:20 a.m. safely. I drove my mother to a small nearby post office after noon. And we went to the supermarket, then. I bought a box of beer, and I went to into a bookstore at next doors and was browsing during. I drove her to a clinic after she came back to car from shopping. Her waiting time should be short because I already put her card there after 9 a.m. However she came back home now at last despite putting it 9 a.m. By the way, I took a picture for the pansy pot yesterday, too. photo

CHRRRY BLOSSOMS

I went out by my scooter at 11 a.m. because it was a fine day and my motorcycle did not come home yet. There were many cherry　blossoms anywhere. I took many pictures for my web page today because I had a small stock of pictures in my PC. My stock was not　enough for this week. My motorcycle broke a week ago, so I did not have a chance to take a picture outside. Where I went to was riverside,　the ruins of a castle, DIY store, bookstore, and another DIY store etc. I saw a lot of full-blown cherry trees whether I went to. I was OK without gloves. I bought an electric dictionary for my mother at DIY store. It has a Japanese-language dictionary for her, but also has an　English-Japanese dictionary, so I borrow it from her and can also use it　for abroad trip. It was made by SEIKO. $20. I bought new one after along time. I got into a habit of shopping to buy an only second hand these days. I came back home before 1:30. My mother came back home at 2 p.m. from cherry-blossom viewing with neighbors near here. They were sitting on the carpet and drinking and eating lunch under the cherry blossoms. She asked to me from down stairs, "I would like　to go to the field to work, could you send me there?" "What? From now? A watch say it is already 2 p.m. mom." On top of that, she has also worked at nearby shrine early morning with neighbors. I said to her, "Don't you think it is better you don't go there? Why do you have　to work hard like that? " However, she was not a person who could hear an advise from son whether I say or not. I gave up and sent her there at 3 p.m. She should come back home after 6 p.m. today, too. Anyway, as soon as I came back home, I turned PC on soon to type today's diary in English for my web page. By the way, I like a pansy, too. These three pansies were given from somebody to my mom in winter, about early March. It was still cold, so I covered the pot with　a plastic bag to protect falling snow and cold wind and getting warm. But they got weak day by day. I took care of them and got warm, then they got well again and their each flower bloomed. What a pretty　pansy these are! I remember living at an apartment in Sendai when I　see a pansy. I put a pansy pot on at inside of the fence at the room. photo

SILVER FOX

It was a fine from morning unlike yesterday, but I could sleep　until 7 a.m. It was a fine day but windy day today. So I drove my mother to the field at 2 p.m. because she was going to walk thereto work this afternoon. By the way, I could happen to see a fox in　the garden in the night of the day before yesterday for the first time. As you know, I am terrible shortsightedness, but I was going to go up the stairs to my room without glasses after taking a bath. At that time when I was went up the stairs, I happened to look at outside from the small window of the wall on the way to my room. There was a fox there. It was walking over on the block, but I wondered if it found me, so it stopped there suddenly and passed through in the garden and ran away to the foot of the slope, and I heard that sounds that the fox was running away on the steel bridge of my house. First I thought it was a Shiba-inu(dog), it is one of some kinds of Japanese traditional dogs, but its fur looks like fox fur, so probably I think it is a fox. Although I turned off the lamp at the stairs before going up, the reason that I could see a fox in the night without glasses was in a moonlight night at the night luckily. In fact, I put a thin sliced ham that we did not eat in the fridge for a long time on the block behind the hut at that night. I did not put it there that last nigh because it was heavy raining. It must have it as a snack between meals and meals. After that the fox should walk below these daffodils at that night. There was a fox in a moonlight night, so I thought I wanted to call it "Silver Fox." It might be the child fox that I saw when I took out a trash by scooter in the winter morning. Anyway, the fox had it By the way, today's picture was taken by me during taking a rest before I would push my motorcycle up to top of the bank on a steep slope. photo

HER TRIP

My mother goes to Morioka today, I was going to get up early. I woke up before 5 a.m. at a moment, and I got up at half past 6. Of course, she already got up and was having a breakfast. I had ittoo. She goes to Morioka to see a medical specialist a few times a year from three years ago. My sister also goes to the clinic to seethe doctor a few times a year. Two went to the clinic together a few times before, but my mom wants to see around the city slowly with a local train, but my sister wants to come back home quickly by a super express without browsing. Oops! A phone is ringing. (20 minutes later) I went to a railroad station to pick her up. I drove her to the station at 7 a.m. in the rain. But it stopped after 8 a.m. and the sky started clearing up. And it started raining heavily again while I went to the station at 4 p.m. So it already begins getting dark. I worried about her who missed her umbrella again in Morioka, but her umbrella was with you when I saw her before the station. She said in the car, "I went out of the clinic around noon, and I walked to the Morioka station and bought bread and eat there for lunch." She takes some rice balls with her as her lunch whenever she goes to Morioka, but there sure was not a rice ball on the table. She was going to exchange a battery for her digital watch, but I heard there was not a watch shop along the street she walked. So she took my digital watch to go there. By the way, as you can see, there is a new white house at the end of the road, but there was a mini carp streamer on the pole already. Japanese people celebrate Children's Day by putting up carp streamers in May 5. There is a scrap one-box car as a shed for farming along the road. And I took a picture to flower in the garden today, but this picture is a daffodil I like. When I see this flower, I feel coming spring every spring. When I drove my mom and I picked her up, I saw cherry blossoms in front of the junior high school. The school name is the CherryTown junior high. photo

HER FAMILY

I could sleep until 6:30 because it was rainy morning. Outside was still dark and sounds from raining were good for me. Raining stopped around 8 a.m. and it was clearing up a little this afternoon. My mother　did laundry from morning not to visit to a hospital. By the way, Miho's　younger sister was called "ShinoBoo" from most relations. Her real name is Shinobu. Of course, I called her with that nickname because　I also was in her relations. I thought their younger brother, Tomo-kun,　was living in Akita prefecture with their parents, but I heard he was living in the US from her now. She said, "He is staying indoors all daylong, so I'm wondering whether he has friends, so I worry about him　from Japan. And my only three years older sister, Miho, is living in Paris now, so only I'm left in her sibling in Japan now." When his oldest sister Miho who was left from her house for a long time was　singing song in Sendai, he was a first grader. But nowadays his life　looks like to mine. He is approaching to a sort of my life a little by　little before he knows naturally. Anyway, I was surprised she was 32years old now, because I thought she was still around 25. She was a high school student at Koenji. By the way, this is a flower, yellow crocus that bloomed in the garden for the first time this year. RAINY DAY

I woke up at 6 this morning. It was a little bit late for me, but it was better than usual. It was cloudy this morning, but it started raining from 11:30. It was a little heavy rain. It is raining even now. My mother visited to a grave with her niece by her truck this morning. NHK Business English　CD that I got at auction was delivered by a delivery woman for lunchtime　in the raining. I have been to Fujisaki department store in Sendai in school　trip in 1972 before we came back to our school. When I lived in Sendai around 1988-1989, I used to rent money at ATM in that store by credit card. Miho who is living in Paris has sang song in front of the store for　Tanabata festival in Sendai, the Star Festival is celebrated on August 7, in "The Best 10" on TV by TBS in 1988. By the way, this is Mayuko's　steel hot water tank. As you can see, that tank was dented by her heel. But it is the same condition with my mother's. Mayuko opens the round　lid of the tank every morning, and she pours soft hot water into her washbowl and washes her face every morning even now despite spring　coming already. However, she is terrible sensitive to cold. He cannot　sleep without a steel hot water tank. She is very clever woman. As she　uses leaving hot water I like a clever woman like her. If there is a beautiful woman there, but if I do not like the woman who is using water　wastefully, whether she is so beautiful and whether she shampoos with　hot water every morning wastefully and becomes more beautiful by that　.Basically I do not like foolish woman like that. I think there is a slight burn on skin of her leg. By the way, please listen to the John Manjiro story today too. photo

FAST FOODS

I woke up at 5:30 this morning, too. I had coke 0.5 liters by my futon before sleep because I was so thirsty after I just took a bath. But I could go into sleep easily. I hurt my legs and left wrist yesterday, but it got quite well this morning because I was rubbing cream to my wrist before sleep. My headache that was from hangover was gone somewhere this afternoon after taking a nap. So I am sure it was from not enough sleeping, too. It was fine day today all day long, too. My mother walked to the field to work at 2 p.m. Her short feet need 30 minutes until there. She also went there yesterday, and came back home at 6 p.m. So she turned on a bath. Before I went to futon, I took a bath and shampooed my hair and shaved myself. I shave at only bath. I think I want to go to a barbershop from me after a long time because my head could not put into a helmet easily because my hair has grown. Anyway, I stayed home all day as usual. It was so boring that I listened to the next phono-seat with my dad's player today, too this morning for you and for me. These record sounds were what were for a 9thgrade students when we were 15 years old in 1975. I could not listen to them despite learning　them at school. But now I feel on me myself like John Manjiro in the US. Although this is my personal opinion, I think we do not need to get whales even now. And I think we can import beef from the US, if somebody is sure to want to eat it, I eat it hardly, though. A lot of Japanese people want to eat beef-bowl that is imported from the US. The beef-bowl chain stores are called "Yoshinoya." We know the biggest beef-bowl fast food chain is Yoshinoya. I remembered that when my dad came to Tokyo for the first time where I lived in 1979, we went to into Yoshinoya together in front of railroad station before we went to Kamakura. Yoshinoya that uses all US beef cannot sell beef-bowl for a large number of customers since that because there is a reason about Japanese situation of stock farming. You know, originally the president of Yoshinoya was a part time worker as well the president of McDonald who passed way this year from Australia as a young. My mom came back home now.

MASK MAN

I woke up at 5:15 naturally this morning, too. I want to more sleep.　Last night, I went to futon at 23:30, because I watched a movie "Mask (1994)" on TV. Pro baseball game put off a half hour until 21:30. By the way, according to Jim Carrey himself, he was born in January 17, 1962 in Canada, Ontario. He said, "I love transforming. I love it. It's like Christmas morning to me. It's such a fun thing to masquerade. Period. You know, it's just a fun thing anyway. So, ah, there's that and, I don't know, just many different reasons to do it." I think he does not know about it, but he was born in tiger year. I think it is too enough only he is in China to Chinese people who are turning into a mob at some of big cities. First apologize to Japan from YOU! We do not have to apologize to one of evil terrorism countries with no reason. Why don't you send the Self-Defense Forces to your country to protect Japan (people and buildings) in China if you do not have power enough for them? CLEANING DAY

Although I went to into sleep at 23:30 last night, I woke up at 4:30naturally. I opened the curtain before I went to futon, though. That's because I had to go to meeting place this early morning. Today was road-cleaning day of this city three times a year. It was first day of this　year. I went there with a hoe before 6 a.m. One person per each family has to join that. All neighbors got together there to clean the road we use.　I smoothed the gravel on the road with a hoe. The work was over in an hour, and we were given a can tea as a participating present from our group's　leader of this year. If we did not join the event, we have to pay 800 yen to him. I came back home at 7 a.m. Anyway, my body ached from when I got　up. As you know, it was too hard workout yesterday for me. We got much age, we do not get aching next day. But I ached from next day. It means it　was so hard workout. Citizen of this city were lucky. It started raining from 9:30. But I could not go to a bookstore yesterday by that accident, so I thought I tried to go there today again. I left there by car at 10:30. I bought　PC magazine. And I walked to a supermarket across the street as I was leaving car at the parking lot. I put six doughnuts into a plastic bag to buy,　they were only $3, potato chips, and a cup noodle and so on. It was after　a long time that I went to the supermarket, inside in the store quite changed.　When I came back home, it stopped raining. I got to my home at 11:30. When　I gave my mom the plastic bag that was filled with doughnuts, she was so glad　and put a curry doughnut of one of them into her mouth soon. It left another　one in the bag, but it was left for her by me. I had a chocolate doughnut that　was put sliced almond on it with a cup of coffee. It cleared up from afternoon.　I took a small record player out and I put a phono-seat on the cheep looking plastic turntable to listen to a set of listening English for junior high school　pupils. I bought it at a bookstore as a junior high pupil so it was in 1975 May.　

ENGINE TROUBLE

It was a fine this morning, but cloudy afternoon. I left for a bookstore with rental video with my motorcycle before noon. But when I was running downhill that was covered with a lot of gravel, the engine stopped suddenly. It could not start again at all as I felt a bad feeling to that. I took a spark plug off with tool from toolbox. Then there was not a spark there whatever I kicked. And the spark plug did not be wet by gas whatever I kicked. "No way!" I kicked again and again to start it again there for 50 minutes, but I could not start it. Finally I gave up then. First I tried to push the bike until my house, but it was too far to come back to my home by pushing bike. But it was not long distance by pushing bike by myself from there. However, if I could push it to my home, I did not think it would work out at my house. So I tried to push it to motorcycle shop because it was closer than my house. After all, I had to push it for 900m for 40 minutes there, but I had to take a rest at five times over 20 minutes. I felt like vomiting so my face was to be blue and my head was to be too wet in the helmet. When I took a final rest before 30m of the shop, I bought a can coke from a vender machine and I sat there and took it. I reached the store that you have seen before by my web site at 13:20 at last. I opened the door and got into the store, young man were walking to come here. I visited the motorcycle shop after an interval of 17 years since February 1988. "Hello, can I help you?" "Hello, I would like to see my bike." "How did you do?" "My bike's engine stopped suddenly when I was riding it." "I see. Let me see..." He started checking my bike, but his dad came there soon, too. They were checking it together to look for that cause. But after all they also gave up to fix it at the place, as I thought, I got to try to come back to my house without my bike. He drove me near my house by car. I came home at 2 p.m. I was so tired. I thought there would be a happing today after leaving home because I got a small accident after saying terrible China before. So I thought I would get any accidents today before leaving. And I thought there would be a mechanical accident for the bike someday too, the contact was bad around an ignition key from when I got. I think I was also given damage to me, and my machine from China. But we do not lose to them. But they might have happened to cause. Anyway, I must say about Chinese violence from now on, too. It was locked suddenly when I was riding it slowly or make a U-turn and pulled the brake lever. I thought it was quite dangerous before. But there was not a chance to see it by mechanic. I am a lucky old boy! Thanks to China. I think I am going to writing about you from now on as well too. Rush about hard wildly more to the world! Mr. Matumura is not Mr. Matimura, but Mr. Matimura will go to China tomorrow. By the way, where it caused accident was below the railroad bridge and a railroad crossing. I woke up at 5:30 naturally. I got out of futon soon and took out a trash bag to the hut by scooter. It was cold morning, so car glasses were frozen. It was a fine and warm day. I was fine thank you. I did laundry with leaving hot water in bath from 11:30 for an hour and half.　It was warm like this, I took off a padded kimono that I have been wearing since last autumn at last today. By the way, as you know, a part of Chinese young people already becomes terrorism group. They, a large number of Chinese cyber attackers who were called together　are attacking to Japanese government web pages with cyber terrorism again and again this time too, for example, the National Police Agency, the Defense Agency, public University and so on. As you know, they are　destroying by violence to Japan, and they are acting in a cowardly way　by cyber attacking in back. They attacked before to web site of Japan　again and again from before. China government said, "They are not wrong." China seems to join one of the evil terrorism countries already.　As you know, China is the most friendly country for North Korea. It is like their oldest brother or boss that it can depend on only. Before China says that they do not allow joining Japan as a permanent of the　Security Council, we do not understand why China is one of the permanent members of the Security Council. As I said, China already　attacks to Japan with Internet by terrorism by allowed people from government. The Minister for Foreign Japan Machimura will go to China　for meeting tomorrow, but we think he must not give in to violent country that can use terrorism by young people in back. Japan always has been criticizing from some Asia countries. However, Japan has not　brought forward a counterargument to them at all, finally they always　apologized. But they could not put up with them that were oppressive　countries at last. Japan also should criticize some important problems　to some near countries at last in the near future. Japan has not long　resisted to some countries, so their countries that has been bullying Japan was puffed up by that more and more. So Japan does not say,　"Yes" to their opinion, they are enraged by attitude of Japan unconditionally without hearing our opinion. Japan should not ignore　to those countries' activities anymore. They should say what they want and should act what they should do. By the way, this is　home-made dish by my mom. It is one of Japanese traditional dishes.　Most Japanese mothers cook this dish for family. From top on the dish,　there is a sliced radish, triangular konnyaku that is strange food that　is jelly-like food made from the starch of devil's tongue, half cut taro,　and　 aburage that is a piece of deep-fried tofu.

It was cloudy and chilly, but I tried to go to the town by scooter this morning. First, I went to the largest post office for this town, and then I tried to go to the bank near there. The bank was at corner of the intersection then, I stopped and waited there until signal changed to blue. Then, two young girls who put headgear on were coming here on the zebra crossing as they were riding each bicycle. I saw two young　men who did so before. But they were girls. I rarely see two riding bicycle　foreigner men or foreigner women in this town. So I think they are Mormon missionaries. We often see they are always riding bicycle together in this city. It is from when I was a high school student. But it is　for the first time they are women. I wonder where they came from. Probably Utah? When they were approaching me, I noticed them, and I took a look them because I put a cap helmet on at that time. I saw the back woman who was one of them had red hair. I intend to call her "Ann" as a temporary name because I do not know her name if she like. I wanted　to talk to her in English because there were hardly foreigners who speak　English in this city. I went to a bookstore after the bank to buy some radio　textbooks for next month. Today is the selling day for them. I checked other textbook for TV too, because I watched it with video last night, but　I did not understand American joke that was made by a student studying　abroad at NY collage on the program was broadcasting. I would say to her there for our first　meeting, "I would like to be your friend to talk to you in English" Anyway,　I came back home after noon. I saw cherry buds that became pink as I was　riding my scooter. I mean, Washington where it was the same latitude with this city seems to be warmer than here because cherry blossoms were already blooming at the Potomac River sides. By the way, Pope John Paul2 passed away the other day on April 4, but I heard from my mom the only　priest of our Buddhist temple near my house also died this early morning.　He had long been in hospital, so he had not long been at the temple. I woke　up twice by a siren of ambulance last midnight and last last midnight too, though. He was middle age yet. He was the man who held a funeral for my　dad about seven years ago. My mom also went to the temple to help his funeral this afternoon. By the way, Meg's dad wanted to eat shrimp in Chinese dish, but this is Chinese dish too. A few shrimps are in this dish. He left from his three daughters too. My sister treated us to the dishes, so there were four same dishes on the table. I wonder if Mingming who is on the Thunderbird cooked the same dishes, too. I woke up at 6:30. It is a little late for me. It was rainy until after lunchtime, but it was stopped now. It was a little bit chilly day. As you know, my feet have stuck to the floor of my room all day long. So I do not have any my news today, too. If there are so much news about me that I have to type for my web page here, so I am in trouble by that, but there are no news of me, I go into trouble too. Anyway, I found out a topic about me for you. I happened to watch a movie on TV last night. Satellite broadcasting of NHK is sending movie program to on the ground every night. They are almost broadcasting foreign films. So I saw them as a material of listening to English. I saw a film from halfway last night by chance after I watched English language program by Patrick with video. I will give you a question here. Have you ever seen this movie? I saw that last night for the first time and have never heard that title until I saw it last night. There are three sisters in the US. They are already adult about from 30's to 40's. Main actress is the middle sister. She almost took care of her dad who was in hospital instead of other sisters. I have known her face of the main actress, but I do not know her name because I am not especially movie fan. She said about hers car in the movie at the scene of about 10 years ago like this, "I have Honda Her younger sister, Mud said, "Me too." She also said like this around 1990, "Honda is nice. The mileage is good, not broken easily, reasonable price, and a trade-in price is higher."　"Me too" I had Honda, too. It was Civic of Honda until 7 years ago. My pen pal who is living in the US, she is a collage student, but she has Honda, too, and she has a younger sister, too. Also she may get car license at ED class at school, and she will get her sister's car in the future for free. NHK put "Honda" into "Japan car" because NHK was government-managed, so they could not say specific company’s name. Meg said her oldest sister, Georgia, who was a celebrity as a magazine editor had Lamborghini of Italy at that time. "Her car overtakes my car at a second easily." Let me explain about her car to Meg. Originally Lamborghini was making a machine for farming, for example, tractor and so on. Honda is making a small farm tractor, too. Her dad said with a phone in the movie, "There was a call tome from John Wayne!" By the way, the movie title is "Please hold me tight with a phone" in Japanese. Do you know this movie's title? I found the title after watching the movie. According to newspaper, that main actress is Meg Ryan n 2000. I had heard the name. But I did not know her face. Please look up the real movie title by yourself. I wonder if Meg who was born in 1961 is older than Mayuko who is using a hot-water steel oval tank around her legs in her bed even now. I heard she uses leaving soft hot water as every morning to wash her face like my mom. I wonder if she has ever done interview with Meg before. When I opened a textbook for radio program of English language, there was an ad for a correspondence course in English language with a picture of Meg with that Patrick, from Colorado, together. "I am your teacher." It seemed to start from this month. Anyway, I could know about Meg who was born in the cow year on Japanese traditional calendar seems to be younger one year than me this time. By the way, I am in the mouse year, but I wonder which year this cat was born. When I was riding motorbike on gravel road along rice fields, I happened to see it. This cat was too shy because the cat stuck its face into straw a few times. It had the short tail. I tried to take a picture for that near cat more, but the cat was running away to the bush by the pond because that was too shy. So I took that only picture by that reason.

REMOVING STONES

I woke up at 5:30 this morning naturally too. I went to seep after 11p.m. last night too. There was especially not what I did, so I tried to removea little stone lodged between grooves of the snow tires with a screwdriver during free time. I do that every early spring after exchanging tires. This year, I took many bit stones out of the tires for more than an hour with Naka-chan. Her name is the close name with one of the seals "Tama-chan" that came to some rivers that flow into Tokyo Bay a couple years ago. ButI got a little blister on my right thumb that grabbed a screwdriver despite wearing gloves. By the way, I was following the cat that was running away from me on the gravel road by motorbike. But I took a picture of the cat that was a bright and charming at the garden of somebody's house along theroad. She was waiting for me until I took a picture for her by zoom lens.

PEKING MEN

I woke up at 5:30. It was cloudy this morning, but changed to sunny after that. But it is cloudy again now. The cherry blossom front does not come here yet. It passed through here to the northaround April 5 last year. But when I was student, it would have come here around April 15 generally. My mother went to the opposite mountain to pick up wild spring grasses near my house this morning.As you know, I stayed home all day. I am been shutting in my house for a long time because of no job and no money. According to TV newsin Japan, I saw there were many Peking men in China streets even now.Chinese government does not have power plenty to capture them, they do pasturing to them as wild area. Ape will be ape. I am afraid Mr. Koizumi does not have power to change myself to them anymore. It isa waste whether you are doing or not. We all think, "That is ridiculous!" We were wondering why China showed own foolish activity to the all of the world. We start thinking the next Peking Olympic would be a complete failure. You do not have to be embarrassed by myself to the world more. Poor young Chinese guys! Although you do not know, you arebeen dancing by your government because your backs are been pushing byyour government now, but finally your backs would be stepped on by tanks from back again in the near future like your brothers. Poor China government! You would have to step on your sons by tanks again yourselves. "That is not our fault." If you say that, so you cannot protect Japanese persons and Japanese building, you mean, I wonder if we really have to protect Japanese persons ourselves by our sending riot police this time. PC TROUBLE

I woke up at 6:30. A narcissus or a daffodil had bloomed this morning when I opened the curtains. I turned on PC soon, and didwork rightly. Because of PC trouble last night. It was cloudy frommorning, but it started changing a fine weather at half past 12 whenI was preparing bike touring. I left for somewhere at half past 12, and came back home at 2 p.m. after riding for 32km/20miles. As soon as I came back home, it was cloudy sky again. You know, I saw a catoutside during touring today too. By the way, as I said a few minutes ago, my main PC did not work rightly suddenly about 17:20. It was after　I had just sent my web page. When I tried to revise that, PC was frozensuddenly, and a mouse pointer did not move at all. Windows XP do not　almost get a freeze unlike Win 98, so I think maybe it was about the　second times since I bought it. It could start OS, but it could not use any software at all, and could not open even folders. Then it was frozen again. "What? What happen?" I asked so myself. PC was broken around　the same time a year ago. The term of guarantee of the PC is until April 28 this month. So I thought I had to send it to maker soon if it wasthe worst situation. Anyway, I tried to check which had problem with hardware or software. If the hardware has any troubles, I would have to send it to maker soon. I opened a cover of PC, there was not a trouble especially inside. I put IBM HDD (4GB) into inside of PC, and connected cables. Then I installed XP to that. XP was installed right, and it did work right. It means, software did. But software caused trouble　suddenly despite no problems until then. Anyway, I had to buy HDD for my PC in the near future. But I put original HDD on PC again, then it worked right, although I did not know why. I thought I had to work withanother second PC from next day for my web page after installing somesoftware to make them. By the way, this picture is yesterday's cat thatwalked away. I think I woke up about 6:30 this morning. It was a fine and windy today, too. My mother left for the field by her feet at 9:30 today too.I was staying home all day. I tidied some corrugated carton in the basement for lunchtime. She came back home at 13:00. An owl was hooting last night near my house for a while. I love a hoot. I can hoot like owl. When I listen to a hoot why I am laughing. I am happy where I am living is the same place where owl is living too. I heard owl lives in big tree. There sure are some big cedars near my house. I watched owla forest in Norway on TV last week. I love it too. I love owl that is livingin steppe of US too. They are usually walking on the ground. They were so lovely. I watched it on NHK TV too. Sakazaki has had owl in his apartment room. He also loves owl and cat. Also Gozalez who is good guitarist had had cat. Also Nyanki that Maki has had is a white cat. Cats name that we had had were "Chako" "Chanda." I felt there is a name of Chanda in India after the naming.. According to my old map,I knew Chandra was really on the Deccan Plateau in India. I have thought sound of Chanda is similar to "chandler" later. I named that name to the cat naturally, and I called it as the name, but my mother called it another name, cat name that we had had before, "Chako." Chanda must be perplexed by two names. Of course, I knew the name of Chandra Sekhar who was born in India. According to my encyclopedia, he was born in India in 1910, and moved to the US in 1936. He becamea professor of Chicago University in 1944. And then, he was given a Nobel prize for physics in 1983. By the way, this cat was at Mud Field Area. That area is below the rice field in mountain where you saw. Youcan see an old storehouse behind the cat, can't that? We can know thishouse was rich in old days by that. This cat was wearing a collar witha bell. But she or he was too shy. The cat did not see my camera easily. I tried to take a picture with a zoom lens, and took another camera from the bag. But the camera could not push its zoom lens out easily, so Icould not turn on the camera. It was electrically-powered lens, but I charged the battery, but it was old. So I became irritated whether thecat would go away from there or not. However, this cat was clever. It was keeping staying before me for me. It was waiting for me for aboutone minute until preparing. Then I could take this picture by zoom lensof another camera. I think, maybe "she" walked away on grasses of the bank slowly before me after taking a picture. "You are good model for me." I was following after her by motorcycle.

FIELD WORK

I woke up at 5:30 naturally this morning, too. It was a fine day from morning, and was a fine all day long. I thought I did not have to go to the field next morning because it was thunder and raining at the night when I went to futon, but the sky was blue without any clouds this morning, so we had to go to the field after all. But terrible strong wind was blowing when we got to our car to leave for there, soI told her as I was putting a bag of potato into the trunk, "Look at this wind! We should not go to work." But she is not a person who can get my suggestion easily. After all, we went to the field by car for the first time this year in that terrible wind. It was warm in the car without wind, but Our bodies were moved by the strong wind the very moment we got off the car when we got to the field. The power of the wind was as strong as typhoon. I thought it must be powerful low pressure, and I remembered thundering last night. The passage of a cold front is sure to give us unstable weather. But I do not like a dislike of it. We rather might like them like Miho, for example, approaching typhoon, thunder, lightning, and so on. Anyway, as soon as I got off the car my head was covered with a hood of jacket soon like Mouse Man to protect from the wind, I started breaking ground with a hoe like her after her. 1 line by her, and three lines by me. She put cut potatoes on the hole I dug with the hoe one by one. And then, when I was burying them in the ground with the hoe, I found a sleeping tree frog from the ground. What a miracle! I found another sleeping frog from the ground, too, but it also escaped death or any injuries by a miracle from the edge of hoe. They were sleeping on the ground for a while, but they did weakly a couple of jumps under the sun.I like a frog especially a tree frog unlike Maki. Miho said once by myself, "I find my face looks like frog face." Frogs sure can like typhoon that carries rain smell. I remembered now that a frog started croaking at outside near my room for the first time this year before leaving for the field this morning now. I buried them under the ground again, but I found it was dangerous for them because I would break ground again in the near future, so I dug the place I dug for them again, then I dug a hole at a bank that anybody does not walk for them for their safety. They should be sleeping there even now. My mother's sister came there by bicycle before us and was working already. We were working there for an hourand half, and left for home at 11 before her sister. By the way, I happened to watch movie on TV last night in thunder and raining, but it was "The Last Shootist (1976)" main actor was John Wayne. Accordingto him information, it was the last movie for him. I watched it for the first time, but the year when it opened the movie I entered a high school. My nephew entered the same school yesterday, though. He also bought an English newspaper yesterday. He said at his lodging as he was holdinga newspaper at night on January 28, 1901. "I came to this town and bought a newspaper for the first time. Today became the most important day for me." That paper was a local paper of the town on January 23, 1901. I thought it was good movie for me too as teaching materials for learning English too.

WOMEN COOK

I woke up at 6 o'clock. I greeted my dad when I passed through before him, "Good morning dad!" this morning, too. I said him every morning. I talk to him sometimes like this, too, "Coconuts grow in south sea islands" before him. Of course, they are all English not in Japanese. It was cloudy today, but warm today too. So I do not put even thin gloves on today too now and no heater. I have been staying　home all day long. So basically there is not any today's news about me.I remembered moving some pots of foliage plants to a down ground inthe garden yesterday. They are all gray-pink and are strong to cold, they were put on the ground directly under the roof like the eaves of hut in the winter, but they were covered with a plastic tarpaulin and they were protected from cold wind and snow, and it kept warm by thesunshine for them. However, basically they are strong to cold and dry, but they are not given water naturally at all by the plastic one, so I gave them water sometimes once a month this winter. Those pots were put in the basement during every winter until last year. The place was warmer a little bit than outside in winter, but it was the basement, so itwas very dark, and then, when spring has sprung, a lot of their leaves had dropped down the concrete. I think it was warmer, but the sunlight was not enough for them there. That's why I found and moved them to a new place to pass the winter. I wondered why I did not find until that time. The place at winter was colder than before, but could get plenty sunshine in daytime of fine day. I think it was better way for theirhealth. It is hard for you too that the sunshine is not enough unless you are a vampire. Their health was better than before as I thought in thisspring. And I put a gutter on the roof at north of hut after that. I took that off from there at the end of the year because sliding snow on the roof broke that every winter. By the way, I got some old English-language newspapers of October to December last year at auction site the otherday to study English more. BUT they are too difficult for me than I thought. I tried getting it as test whether I can read it or not before I subscribe that. I was glad that it was old cheap paper. The subscription is $10 for a month once a week. It was too expensive and too difficult for me, although it is for my education. I got them for 13 days at $5 including postage cost and so on. If I would go to the US or UK, I would buy a newspaper at stand, and would go into a big supermarket, too, and would watch TV especially commercials for study. I do not want to visit tourist resort or famous spots very, and I think I want to get a general　life like citizen there. And I want to drive a car on the winding country road in UK someday. So I think I want to get Thunderbird DVD for study　and a trip now, and I also want to eat the given home-made cookies that　were made by Ms. Uehara like Nakacyan. I will be deeply touched with hers like Nakacyan who is FM announcer, when it goes into my mouth. There is a Japanese saying here. "A good woman cook makes up for many a defect." By the way, this is a closer picture than yesterday picture. As you can see, there is a compass I bought at 100-yen shop with an inserted key to the key box.

Do you notice about this thing? I am not wearing any gloves now. I mean, I am typing keyboard without gloves now. I think it is since last September. A thermometer says in my room "70/21 degrees" now. I woke up at 6 o'clock. I think I am making a fresh start from April. It was a fine and much warmly day despite still April. By the way, I watched one English language TV program by video last night. Ms. Kawabe Chieko who is a model also said like me,"Let's singer song!" with her cartoon. She wanted to say, "Let's sing a song." She was singing one of her favorite Avril Lavigne songswith Raquel together. She said to Raquel Castro who is a child actress, first, "Please be my friend." I did not know about her at all, but she looked like me, because her English skill and her cartoon by English, too. I think I cannot speak English very well than her. Pleasesing a song with me, "Genius Bakabon" after seeing yesterday page. Those words in Japanese are been singing on the second of the song. Mayuko can also sing the song together because she is the same age. However, Ms. Toda who is a famous translator cannot sing the song. By the way, not change the subject, but I drove my mother to a dentist at 10 a.m. Then, I parked car at a parking lot, and went into a bookstore. The store is the biggest bookstore in this city. But the store does not have a parking lot because it was at central city. I go to the store by car recently since I knew the parking lot that was for free within 30 minutes. So I used to go there by bike until these days. I bought an English TV program textbook and a off-road motorcycle magazine. I will more watch TV program than radio program this season. As soon as I came back home, I got ready to exchange from winter tires to summer tire for my car because it was much warmly.I carried tires and so on with a handcart to my car and put them into a trunk, and then, I left for a river mouth. I mean my parking is only ground covered with grasses, and it is farm path so narrow space, and has slope. So I cannot use an oil-jack to jack up a car. It must be flat and concrete to use it. If it is not so, a steel plate at jack uppoint get deformation. I did that for the first time. It was blowing north wind to me, but I took off my wear, I put only T-shirt on. ButI was thirsty as I thought. Winter tires ran for 460km/290miles after exchanging, since December 30. As soon as I came back home beforenoon, I carried all of them with a handcart to my house, and I washed tires soon. I ate an ice cream that has long been in the fridge after that for the first time this year. By the way, this is a picture around my bike's handle bar. I took this before leaving home and before my first touring in this season.

Although I watched some languages TV, French, Italy, and Russian, they are started from last night, last night until 1 a.m. I woke up at 6 a.m. this morning. The sky was covered with thin clouds in the daytime all day long. And it was windy today. Twoolder women who were my cousin or my mother's niece seemed to come to my house suddenly at 9 a.m. today. They are four sisters who are my mother's oldest brother's daughters, one of them is the oldest sister, and one of them is the youngest sister came to my house together by a truck this morning. Maybe as Sharapova knows,the oldest sister was born in South area in the Sakhalin Island, in Russia now. But I never heard she spoke Russian. And younger sisteris a woman who made a homemade cake the other day. I heard they left from my house before 11 a.m. I was staying in my futon to study English while they were here. Then my order sister and her son cameto my house by Mira, by a small car (0.66 liters) by Daihatsu, at half past 11. In fact, only he was supposed to come to my house by bicycleyesterday, but he did not come here why yesterday. He brought CDthat was made by PC and PC printer and was given to him with him to me, when he graduated from a junior high school. I put it into my PCto play back at next room. It was time for lunch, my mother made a call to Chinese restaurant as usual instead of my sister. I thought those were on my sister. A deliveryman brought their dishes for us by motorbike with him shortly. They were Chinese fried noodles in thick, starchy soup with vegetables. We liked that. They got a cell phone each last month, so her son or my nephew gave me his e-mail addressafter meal. However, it was TOOO long! It was what it was given by the cell phone company automatically. We would get a mistake easily because of too long like that, when we copied them each other, so Igave him my e-mail address because mine was shorter. Then he madean e-mail and sent to my address of PC soon. I got his first e-mail soon,and I sent him short answer soon. It worked out between him and me each other. However, my sister's did not work out easily. She has not opened the cell phone manual yet, and she could not understand about a cell phone except normal talking at all. That's why she has not used e-mail at all yet. First, she sent me because of a short e-mail address of mine as a test. In fact, when he copied her address, he did mistake spell, "bb" to "dd" and "q" to "p". Anyway, my PC got her e-mail soon,but my e-mail that I sent her did not get to her cell phone. He also sent her a mail by his cell phone, but it also did not get there. I said them,"Why don't you read the manual from the first page with your son?" They went back to their house at 3 o'clock. I do not get e-mail from hers around now yet. By the way, today's macro picture is the grave of Taroppe and other animals that were living in my home. This cut tree was for my dad in front of his altar. But I did recycle what my mom took out because of old for Taroppe. It was given by my cousin who made a homemade cake for my dad. Generally nekoyanagi grows at a streamside. Is there a tree like this in your country? Do you knowa tree's name?, "Neko-yanagi", pussy willo. Neko is cat, yanagi is willowin Japanese. WINDY DAY

I woke up after 5 o'clock this morning. It was a fine and windy today. I opened the window of my room. Some radio English programs started from today. Of course, I listened to them all, and I am goingto listen to them from now on, too. However, I do not almost have those textbooks. But I am going to listen to them every day. I was staying home all day. I had a slight headache today sometimes. Butit got well now, though. By the way, this is a bulbul that came to my garden to eat feed rice. I used my Olympus digital camera to take this bird, but it had a zoom lens, so I could catch it bigger than before.I thought I was really glad I got this camera when I saw this picture.By the way, today's picture is not Matsushima Islands on the sea. I happened to come here from rice fields over there in the mountain.A strong northwest wind rippled the surface of the big pond. Wateris filling up this pond because of before rice-planting season.

OFF-ROAD

I woke up at 7. Although I did not know why, I had a slight headache when I woke up. I drove my mother to a hall of this cityat 9:30 a.m. She was going to see an amateur show. I did laundry after coming back home. It was about for an hour. I wanted to do something because I had a headache. Touching to water was good for me. Basically it was thin cloudy today, but was warm day. So I tried to go somewhere by motorcycle to get cool my head. I left for somewhere after noon. Of course, I took a camera out for you with me. However, you can see only pictures in countryside. As you know, I do not have enough stock of pictures. So you saw my picture that I took last year these days. I took some pictures outside today, so you can see my new picture in near future. I took Polaroidand Olympus, two digital cameras in the bag with me. I saw a cat and a yellow butterfly in the mountain during the touring. As you know, I love riding motorcycle on off-road. I am boring when I ride it on flatted road, but I woke up when I ride it not on the flat road. I really enjoy riding it on dirt road. And I can keep riding that by my pace onthe road. There are not any cars and persons. I went to a self-servicegas station because I got at near that gas station by chance. Of course, I did not have to say, "Fill up the tank, please. "I like a self-service gas station. That's because I can stay there in slowly, and I can do by myself. I will let you show a picture that I took there in the near future. It was southeast wind yesterday, but was northwest wind today, so it was head wind for me when I tried to go back home. I came back home at 2 p.m. I was riding that for 45 km/28 miles. As soon as I went into my house, I turned the radio on, and I made a coffee. By the way, according to at local page of newspaper, there was an accident at railroad crossing in the morning yesterday between Yamanome station that I said yesterday and next Ichinoseki station. Old woman had already died there. But I wentto the station, although I did not know about it at all. I was typing formy web page for an hour, but my headache got well a little again before I knew. I can drink a can beer tonight, too. By the way, thisis a wild bird that came to my garden to get a feed. It is a bulbul. It is one of my pets that were living outside by pasture. This bird is picking at remained rice by me.

RIDING MOTORCYCLE

I woke up at 7 this morning. I found blooming a yellow flower, a crocus, in the garden. There was not that last year. It was sunny and warm today, so I went to the outside. I charged already a batteryof my motorcycle and scooter, so I put them on it at last. My motorcycle XL125R woke up by my one kick again since March 5. That wokeup by only one kick, too at that time. I think the engine got good condition than last year. But the front brake and the key-box are notvery good feeling as well as last year. I pumped up each tires for XL, scooter, and car. But this afternoon, it changed to windy weather. ButI was riding my motorcycle for the first time this year. I went to a bookstore first, and went to a used bookstore, and an electrical store.I did not buy anything anywhere. I could run off-road at last, and wentto the back yard of Yamanome rail station. I wanted to take a picturethere, but it ran out of battery of the camera. The strong wind was blowing from the southeast, but it was cold for me. So I could not speed up. I came back home at 3 p.m. My bike had ran for 21 km. My body got cold. My motorbike is for off-road, and the engine is not powerful because of just 0.125 liters, so I do not feel very well whenI was riding it at main road as I thought. But I feel very well on the off-road as I thought. By the way, these are grapefruits for wild birds. Originally grapefruit does not grow up in Japan. I did not know about that at all when I was a child. But that was imported from US aboutwhen I was a high school student. But after that came to Japan, I thought it looked like not orange than mikan, Japanse orange. I waseating it for dinner at every Saturday evening with curry when I wasliving near Sakazaki liquor shop. When I passed though in front of theshop about 12 years ago for an interview, their son's poster was on the show window.

CHAINED TROUBLE

I woke up at 6 a.m. this morning. If I do not write of my waitingtime, I cannot start to write my journal from now on. It was cloudy all day today, but the sunshine was soaking here sometimes. It lookslike pouring water into a hand pump to call in water. I took a booster from the wall for TV out noon. I got that at auction site as a new onelast September, but did not effect much effect. Although there is noteffect hardly, but it needs electricity, so when I want to record TV program on the mid night by timer with video, it have to turn on all night despite no effect. There were some accidents because it was turned off. And then, an instantaneous hot-water heater did not run suddenly. It ran rightly, I did wash dishes this morning. I exchanged from size D two batteries of the inside to new one, but it did not fire up. I thought we might have to exchange to new machine. But I never gave up. I brought a stick file with me from the basement, and I filed metal that touched with battery at inside of the battery box. Finallyit could fire up by the work at last. According to my mother who came back home from a temple at that time, it was what she bought when my dad was living at my house about 10 years ago. I thought we had to buy new one at DIY store and put it on the pillar beforea sink at the kitchen by myself. I was living in apartment for a longtime alone, but I did not have a water heater. Of course, in winter too. Water was too cold. I cocked all meals by myself at the kitchen.I had it and bathroom too once, but the room was dormitory. I couldnot live in the room only two month. Almost my life was poor. By the way, I give feed that I bought at DIY store on the dish for wildbirds every day. Originally, I was giving feed from a bag that wasTarroppe's until the end of last year. That was left in the fridge forfive years because Tarroppe died. It ran out of the feed, so I boughta new bag of the feed for parakeet. First, they did not find the feed easily, but they came there to eat again and again every day after found that. I am glad when I saw it ran out of the feed on the dish. When I visited to Tarroppe’s grave yesterday, I gave much feed than usual because of Tarroppe's Day.
