Today was sunny and windy day today. Today is the day that Tarroppe died. Taroppe that we had had was a shell parakeet, but Taroppe died on March 31, 1999, 6 years ago. If you want to see that, I will let you show a picture of Taroppe from today's my page. It was too windy today, but I visited to its grave in back yard and burned incenses and offered their sticks on the grave. I rememberputting burned incense sticks on the ground in strong wind last year, too. By the way, I happened to tidy my room that had a lot of newspapers that was for a month more yesterday afternoon. They happened to be from February 10 to March 30. The front-page of the oldest newspaper of them said, "Japan won to North Korea 2-1!" Ogasawara who came from our prefecture was on the front-page ofthe paper. It is the first game for them for the final elimination roundof the World cup soccer in Germany. My mother and I had dinner aswe were watching the game on TV. The game was "Japan VS Bahrain" in Japan, but Japan won to Qatar 1-0 barely by hard game. Bahrain's striker gave us a point by his own kick. If he did not give us the point, we might not have been to Germany next year anymore. I checked the newspaper on February 10 again, and it was February 10 as I thought. So I thought we might have taken this game. By the way, according to a local newspaper, all members of this city decided the big fir that was in the Mokusa Shrine as a city natural treasure yesterday. I sent a picture of Mokusa Shrine to US yesterday at thesame day, I did not know about it at all, though. I knew about the news at the web site of the newspaper this afternoon, but the newswas not in headlines, so I happened to find the news. It was since theend of the last year that I sent a picture of Mokusa Shrine to the US.By the way, this is "tanmen," after I took wrap out. Generally thesebowls are covered with wrap not to spill soup, they are delivered bybike and as the soup keeps the warm, I think.

ABOUT NAME
03.31.05 (6:04 am) [edit]
|
I woke up at before 4 a.m. naturally because I went to futonat 9 p.m. last night. It was cloudy this morning, but fine weatherthis morning. I have been staying home all day long today. So thereis no news about me today. I do not have to pick my mother up by car today. I heard from my mother my sister came to my house, but she was staying home for a few minutes, and went to back herhome soon. I heard from her, one of her friend in high school, Keiko, was named from Ms. Kishi Keiko who was Japanese actress. I heard she was so beautiful. Keiko was the female baby name that was most in Japan about that time when she was born. By the way, I heard her name was named by my dad's oldest brother. I do not know why. But he sure was a man who was respected by his brothers and sister. His all nephews and nieces, too. I think the name of Michel's killer whale was Keiko, too. My teeth are also looks like Jaws. By the way, this is "tanmen," Chinese noodles served with vegetables and meat in broth. When my mother's younger sister came to my house, it was what my mother made a call to be delivered to my home. When it had just been delivered to my house by motorbike, this is a picture that was taken by mebefore eating.

GAS STATION
03.30.05 (6:08 am) [edit]
Basically it was sunny day today. My mother was going to go to the hospital from before, I drove her there this morning. But we called at the post office near here to pull her saving on the way there before that. As soon as she got at the hospital, she put an only patient's registration card there, then, she cameback to the car soon. And I drove her to another clinic. That's because waiting time at the first hospital is too long. But she hasto wait for a few hours at the first hospital to see a doctor aftershe came back from the second clinic. So she takes a rice ball aslunch with her whenever she goes to the hospital. That's why it was after 4 o'clock that she made a call to me to make to pick her up at a supermarket. It was 10 am when she put a card to see a doctor. She walked the supermarket and shopping there after the clinic and hospital. It is her usual course, though. It is too late today for me. I went to meet her by car after that call soon, but it was already at half past 4 when we came back home. I could not turn PC on because of waiting her call. Story about her is over at here, story about me starts after she got out of the car from here. I went to a gas station that I went often to fill gas at next town. I went there since December 21 last year. The gas station is along Route 4. You have seen the gas station before because a picture of the store was on my web page before. However, I found soon the gas station changed when I saw the store soon. The gas station was remodeled. It changed from a normal gas station with some service staff to a self-service station. As you who visit here often know, I have been to a self-service gas station some times before. But they were for my motorcycle. When I stopped my car in front of the gas machine, waiting all three service men for customer at around the machinecame to me. I said to one of them, "As I can see, did you change to self-service gas station?" "When did you change?" "Today?" He said as he was passing to me its flier and gave me three box of tissues as opening present that he was holding, "As this flier says, opening the store is on April 1, but we are opening as temporary opening from today" he said so to me. So I do not have to ask to them anymore from now on, "Fill up the tank, please." I was used to operate a self-service gas station a little, but it was for the first time that I put gas into a tank of car. But I was not taught from anybody how to use a kind of vender machine, I could use them freely from the first time, because I like trying new machine.First, my hands touched the car body to make disappear static electricity of my body as my hands touched inside of PC. I filled upthe tank with gas by myself for the first time. 133 yens per 1 litter ($4 per 1 gallon). I put 5,000-yen bill into the machine, then the change came back to me by receipt. We left for my house from there, but I came back there soon again because I saw the flier in the car. I put five plastic tanks into the trunk to buy kerosene before leaving from home. The flier was saying, 850 yens per a plastic tank (18 litters)! I was going to buy them at DYI store, butI got back there soon by that. It was for the first time that I filled up kerosene with the plastic tank. It was very useful because the trunk could go to in front of the machine directly. But after all, itwas more expensive than I thought. According to my calculation onmy desk after I came back home, the flier was 47 yens per a litter, but the kerosene that I bought today there was 53 yens per a litter. It was sure the flier was saying, "This opening sell on April 1.2.3." So I thought I bought expensive kerosene. If I did not make U-turn on Route 4, I would have bought 300 yens cheaper kerosene at the usual DIY store than the gas station. As soon as I came home at11 am, I carried five tanks to my house with a handcart, and I poured kerosene from the tank into a main steel tank as usual. I had a bottle of milk after that work as usual. According to Nikkei business news web site this afternoon, it was saying the largest oil company in Japan decide to rise gas price from April 1, 5 yens per1 litter.

WRITING ITALIAN
03.29.05 (6:30 am) [edit]
|
I woke up at 5:30 this morning. I thought it would be cloudy today, but it started raining from 13:30. So it is already gettingdark despite early evening now. I made take a rest for my eyes today, too. I was staying in futon and read an English textbook and listened to English CD this morning. And I was typing to send e-mail in Italian to a radio station. "Buon giorno!! Come sta?" I sent a picture of pizza bread to my web page yesterday, and I wrote this place where we live is on the same latitude as high assouthern Italy yesterday. Have you ever read the short story "The Last Leaf"? It was written by O. Henry. It is one of the most important work of him, so it is well known by most Japanese people.Off course, I knew it from when I was a child. We had just learned that story this month by listening English radio program. I knew that the old painter was German for the first time this time by the original. And I did not know Johnsy's friend Sue who was living withher who got an ill in the same studio cried a Japanese napkin. She said to Sue in the bed after Johnsy got well again by the last leaf of his paint, "Sudie, some day I hope to paint the Bay of Naples." I hope I also go to Naples, and Pompei. I want to climb the volcano Mt. Vesuvio (1277m/4190ft). And I want to sing a song with big voicein Italian and Japanese, "Funiculi-Funicula" as I was walking there. Thoko that you saw on this page was living near here in Tokyo, but now she is living in Paris with her husband who is making cake there as pro. She speaks French fluently, but seems to know old Italian history very.By the way, when I was 19 years old, I heard for the first time the name of Jhonsy as cat name. I watched the film "ALIEN" at theater at Kinshicho of Tokyo in 1979. I like cat, so I was remembering the cat name "Jhonsy." So I did not know that the real name of Jhonsy, Ripley's cat, is Joanna until these days. Sue's real name is Suzan. Also Suzuki is called "Sue" in Japan like Suzan. By the way, today's macro picture is my typewriter that I got last spring. That was $10, and plus postage cost $10. I tookthis picture because I would not get how to put the ribbon there sooner and later. It was a second hand and too old model, so it wasnot with manual. So I did not find very well how to put it. However,I found right way to the typewriter for the ribbon the other day. Then I draw a picture of there and I took a picture of that. It is using to make a label of MD for leaning English. But I do not need using that except that work, so I type a post card, too with this typewriter sometimes to send to a radio station. I knew Olivetti inItaly as the famous typewriter. But mine is "Silver-Reed" in Japan. "Brother" is the most famous typewriter maker in Japan.Originally both makers are loom makers.

LEARNING FRENCH
03.28.05 (6:07 am) [edit]
When I woke up, my eyes hurt this morning too. They may bedried eyes by much PC work every day. So my eyes took a rest a little today. I can learn English by listening to CD, if my eyes wouldtake a rest. It was fine this morning, but it started covering with clouds in the sky at 11 am, so the sky got dark despite noon. Thenit started raining from 2:30 pm. That's why there is not a news about me. I am wondering spring has sprung. According to a world map, this place is the southern than Madrid in Spain on, or Napoliin Italy. We are living in the tip of a toe in Italy on the same latitude. As you can saw the Athinai Olympic last summer, Greece is too dried and too hot place, but we are living at about the same latitude than Greece. I wonder if snowing is Greece. We are living on the same latitude with Washington in US. Do you have heavy snow sometimes in Washington like us? There is a moving season in Japanfrom March to April. Japan's school and most company year beginin April and ends in March. So we are in a moving season just now.We can see a moving truck about this time sometimes. By the way,Mr. Chirac is moving to Japan now for a short time, though, he is going to move back home tomorrow. He will ask to flight attendant tomorrow at Tokyo airport like this, "Combien de temps faut-il jusqu'a Paris?" "Il faut a peu pres 15 heures." And we heard hesaid anywhere in Japan like this, "Merci, e'est tres gentil." "A votreservise." Also Mr. Koizumi will answer him so tonight. I am not goodat French unlike Keiko, Miho, Ryoko, and Noriko. Miho has been livingin Paris for a few years, and Noriko also is living in Paris for a few years as a student of learning French, and especially Ryoko appearedin film "Wasabi," hot green past with sushi, in fluent French as his daughter with Jean Reno who is good at speaking Japanese a little. If I could see him in the future, I would speak to him in French like Jean… no like his Japanese. I am going to listen to radio of France news in French from 6 pm this early evening, too like Mr. Chirac. By the way, this is a pizza bread on the dish that is also ate in south Italy like Italian people and with a bottle of milk.

AICHI EXPO
03.27.05 (6:44 am) [edit]
My eyes hurt when I woke up these days. Probably that is because I might be typing too much with a keyboard. It was fineor cloudy today, but it was snowing around 3 pm. My mother andI left my home by car at 10 am, and we went to a Japanese cakestore near here, first. She had to pay money there. But she was given a cup of green tea there, so she had that despite, although I was waiting in the car. Then, we went to a car dealer to get document of my car. And my car ran on the new bridge, and newroad that had just opened yesterday. We came back home at halfpast 10. Charging battery for my motorcycle was over, but it wassnowing and cold yet, so I cannot run my motorcycle today, too yet. By the way, Mr. Jacques Chirac got at Japan this morning byspecial plane. He is going to see sumo at sumo stadium in Osaka. He might call out to injured sumo wrestler at sumo ring, "Ca va?" And he says, "C'estg enial! Bien!" He is going to visit to Aichi Expo that opened from yesterday tomorrow. He has known 4,600yens (38 euros) for the entrance fee, but he did not know wherethe window for the ticket is, so he asked to someone "Ou sont lesguichets, s.v.p?" Mr. Koizumi visited at Genkai Island that had a powerful earthquake this week today. He cried to both Korea at north in his heart there, "Ca suffit!" He is going to meet Mr. Chirac tomorrow. Mr. Koizumi said that Japan football team lost a game to Iran the day before yesterday. "C'est dommage. Bonne chance!"He encouraged him to next game. "Bon sejour!" Mr. Koizumi saidto him. This is also another pizza bread that my sister bought and gave for us. & nbsp;

HIGHSCHOOL BASEBALL
03.26.05 (6:54 am) [edit]
I woke up at 5 am, and I went to the hut by scooter to throwa garbage bag away at 6. I was wondering in futon whether I couldgo to the hut to throw garbage tomorrow morning, because it wasraining last night. It was not raining, but the road was wet. But it started raining when I approached there. It was windy and rainy thismorning, but basically it was snowing too much all day long. If it wascolder last night, raining would change to snowing, then I would not be able to throw a garbage bag away by scooter this morning. Anyway, my sister and her son came to my house in the snow by Mira at 11. They bought a cell phone and showed us them. Her onewas free. But she has to keep paying charge every month from nowon, and also her son as she is. He took a picture of ours by the cell phone. Theirs have a digital camera, too. She tried making a call to my house by her cell phone. A telephone in my house was rung by her call. They came back to their home before noon because of not coming delivered dishes. My mother's grandson wanted to eat delivered dish, but his grandma did not try to call a restaurant because of much snowing in outside, a delivery man rides a motorbiketo come here to deliver them. We might exchange e-mail because they have a cell phone that can send e-mail from now on. But they did not seem to know about that function, so when I asked to him hise-mail address, What? What is that?" he said so. I do not have a cellphone, but I can get e-mail from a cell phone. By the way, I made a cup of tea to eat given yesterday ohban-yaki as lunch after they went back to their home. And then, I was waiting for a few minutes because I put one ohban-yaki into a microwave. When I happened toturn on TV in the kitchen for that waiting time, high-school baseball was broadcasting on TV from the Koshien stadium near Kobe. It wasjust when the Ichihasama high school got two point from Shutoku highschool in Tokyo at the first round. I have heard city name of Ichihasama sometimes, so I knew that was near here. NHK was broadcasting their school song at the game. I heard "Kurikoma" was included in that song. I know that city was in northern Miyagi prefecture, but I did not know the place clearly. However, I knew thatcity was near my city by that word "Kurikoma." Kurikoma is from Mt.Kurikoma. That mountain is included in our city, too. I got back to my room to see a map, that city, Ichihasama-cyo was next city of Tukidate-cyo. Tukidate is on flat, but Ichihasama is in the mountain near Mt. Kurikoma (1628m/5340ft). School songs that all schools inthis city each other have "Mt. Sukawa" as another name of Mt. Kurikoma. The Ichihasama high school was chosen as special select of 21 century as one of two from all Japan. Also the Ichinoseki thefirst high school was chosen last year by that. Generally what a public school and at northern Japan wins to the private school andat southern Japan is difficult. But Ichihasama team won to one ofthe strong teams in Japan, by a scoter of 5-2 today. The team was winning to the strong team at the first inning at that time, I did notget back to my room, I brought small TV from the kitchen to theliving room, and watching the game in kotatsu until the game was over at 2 pm. 9,300 people are living in Ichihasama. I have passedthrow that town when I was junior high school student by bicycle. This is pizza bread that my sister brought and brought to my housefor us.

WARMLY DAY
03.25.05 (6:15 am) [edit]
|
It was fine and warm day today. I did not need a heaterin daytime. I was staying home all day. There is not snow hardly around here. I installed Win95 to IBM desktop PC again and installed from support CD, too. But Windows 2000 is much better than Win95 at that PC, so I restored it condition before. And Icharged a battery of my motorcycle for two hours this afternoon because spring has come like this. By the way, these are two bottle of xylitol chewing gums. They are good for teeth because they are sugarless gum, I am chewing that every day. Green one is taste of lime mint, and blue one is taste fresh mint. I prefer green one than blue one. I do not hardly go to a dentist by a bad tooth since I chewed them about five years ago. I used to go there once a yearat least until then. It was sold at the reception of the dentist. I am typing this as I am chewing it now. I would have been glad if there were a gum like this when I was a child, and my all teeth without bad teeth would be left in my mouth.

DELIVERD BOWLS
03.24.05 (7:22 am) [edit]
|
I wake up at 6 am. It was cloudy all day. My headache got well almost well when I woke up, but it went a little bad again, but it got well again at 11 am. My mother's younger sister came to my house with fruits by bicycle at half past 10 to pray my dad. My mother made a call to a Chinese restaurant at half past 11 to order and tobe delivered. They were delivered by motorbike before noon. They were all "tanmen," Chinese noodles in lightly seasoned soup with vegetables and meat. I will show you a picture because I took that before eating a few days later. I wanted to eat "cyuka-han," a dishof rice with a chop-suey-like mixture on it, but she made a call fordelivery there without asking to me. My aunt went back to her home by her bicycle at 13:30. She is riding a bicycle that was belonged to her granddaughter for young now, so it does not have a rear carrier and a center stand. She asked to me whether this bike canput a rear carrier and a center stand on it, and "how much does it cost?" I answered her about it outside, "that is about $50." Afterthat, I drove my mother to J supermarket, we went to often, near here at 2 pm. She bought a present there, and then she would visit to her younger sister's house with a present. I got back home soon. By the way, this tonkatsu bentou is after it had just taken from microwave. So you are not supposed to see it, but steam was rising from that. My aunt who came to my house today bought and gave me this at K supermarket. Generally, bentou of convenience store, a packed lunch box, is cooked at food factory and delivered by truckto each convenience stores, but this bentou is cooked at this supermarket and put on the store. So it is cheaper and more delicious. I heard Mr. Koizumi left only tonkatsu on dish, he means, he ate only rice. We are wondering if he is a vegetarian. However, I heard he likes eating Italian and Chinese dishes. And he will not eatpink pickles. A red small ball is mini tomato, and under that is potato salad with a sliced cucumber, a sliced lemon, brown is tangle boiled down in soy. I explained about other foods in this packed lunch boxalready after February 9. By the way, they say Mr. Jacques Chiraclikes watching sumo. He will come to Japan to see sumo in this month. He will ask someone in Japan. "Quel est le prix de l'entree Aichi le village?" Is it right? I wrote in French for the first time now. I also like listening to news in French on every Sundays evening. It is broadcasting when sumo have just finished by radio on Sunday.

DENTIST DAY
03.23.05 (6:48 am) [edit]
Basically it was cloudy today, but the sunlight in the cloud was soaking thin to the ground around noon. When I woke up, a slight headache left in my head, although I have to go to a dentistthis afternoon. My mother went to a temple to practice Buddhist song in the morning. I tried to brush my teeth before going to a dentist, but I found that my face was covered with stubble on the mirror, because it was after a long time that I saw my face myself. I have to shave myself, too. I went to a dentist as I was having a headache. I called at a supermarket to buy a packed sake on the way there. In fact, I had a headache, so I did not very want to buy that one, but I bought it two. My appointment time was 3 o'clock, but I got at half past 2. I was sitting and waiting on the sofa until my turn for an hour in the waiting room. The dentist saw and treated mycome-out tooth for 15 minutes. I paid $10 to nurse at the reception, and I came back home at 4 o'clock. I still had a headache, and the dentist told me "It is better you do not eat for a half hour from now on" so I did so, I had a cup of coke. My mother came back home after me at half past 4. This is a packed general lunch that is sold at convenience store or supermarket, called "Tonkatsu bentou." Tonkatsu is a breaded pork cutlet, bentou is a packed box lunch. Ton-katsu is that ton is pork, and katsu is cutlet. That is a shorted word by those words. You know, Japanese people had not eaten animals that have four legs until opening the country, 130 years ago. For example, beef, pork and so on. We had not had little milk except baby. Anyway, that bentou's price is about 500 yens ($4.5). This bentou was sold at a supermarket, but we think it is cheaper than what it is sold at convenience store. As you know, I do not much like tonkatsu, and also the Japan Prime Minister Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, but my dad and Mr. Kakuei Tanaka who was the Japan Prime Minister will gladly eat it. It means, Katu-don that I said a few days ago, it is tonkatu on the rice in the bowl. Generally katsu-don is delivered to most of the policestations in Japan from restaurant. A police detective orders and give it for a suspect at lunch time during investigation usually. And then, he gives a cigarette to him after lunch, and he starts talking about his mom in the country after having a smoke. It reminds him about his mother and his childhood in the country. And then, he started talking about that trouble detail. Finally, let me tell you about today's picture. I had just bought them at this time. I bought these at 1,530 yen and 1,480 yens for bike touring at DIY store.

WINDY DAY
03.22.05 (7:29 am) [edit]
I wake up at 6 am this morning, too. I got a sleep only 6 hours today, too. I made me get up early every morning these days. I have not had been getting enough sleep lately, so I had a slight headache this morning at last. It was a fine day all day today, but too windy likea storm. However, I saw a little little bit blue flowers on the ground atdown slope for the first time in this year, when I came back home fromoutside. There was three consecutive national holidays in Japan until today including Vernal Equinox Day, off course. I drove my mother to her friend house this morning. But we called at Japanese cake store near here to buy and give a present for them, first. She came back to my car with a box of cake with her hands after a while. She was askedfor them to give a Buddhist song for their ancestors. Our car passedthrough on side of the Mt. Hataori. I called at a bookstore, next to a supermarket, on my way home after she got off the car. I was browsing some English textbooks, starting from next month, but I did not buy anything. I came back home at 11 am. Then I ate a home made cake at coffee break time. It is a cake that my mom brought with her in a last evening from her parents house, was made by her oldest brother's the youngest daughter. She gave it for me, staying home. It is delicious.It was better and tasty than a supermarket's Christmas cake of last year. As I said, I had a slight headache, and not enough sleeping time, so I got a sleep this afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm. I felt better a little than before. I ate more another cake with a cup of tea after that. She does not get back home at 5 pm yet. By the way, today's picture is at Kurikoma Dam. It was too windy today, but I saw a rider who was riding Yamaha XJR1300 and stopping at a signal by red on my way home nearhere. I have to charge a battery of XL125R to ride it by and by. And this is Homerun Bread that is reached for us one once two weeks. & nbsp;

POWERFUL EARTHQUAKE
03.21.05 (7:20 am) [edit]
|
Today is Vernal Equinox Day. A terrestrial globe that I boughtat 100 yen shop the other day said that it is the most nearest placeto the sun in the earth is in Gulf of Guinea near western Africa, under the Greenwich, the west longitude 0 degrees, and equator each otherare crossing there. In the same way, the sun is the nearest to the place in the earth is between Kiribati that begin going under sea and the Baker Island (US) at Autumnal Equinox Day, it means, I found it was the place that was crossing the international date lineand the equator each other for the first time at more than 40 yearsold. The globe that is like a toy on the desk is too useful gear for me. Anyway, it was cloudy all day long here from the morning. AlthoughI went to futon last night at 0 am, I woke up at 5 am. I watched "100 Magic Words" on TV this week, too, before breakfast. My older sisterand his son came to my house by her car Mira at 12:30. My nephew who passed exam for a public high school and was going to learn electronics was using my laptop, IBM 345, at living room. They and my mother left for a temple near here together after 2 pm to visitand pray my dad. And then, my mother should have visited to theirhouse by her car together. By the way, I would like to talk you about more Kamakura information today, too. There was a powerful earthquake around Fukuoka city that is the biggest city in Kyushu Island of the western Japan, at 11 am today, but China and Korea tried invading to Japan twice by a command from Khubilai who was a grandchild of Genghis Khan, around Fukuoka, in 1274 and 1281. They captured the Genkai Island that is at offing of Fukuoka by too many ships and sailors soon, but they could not invade also twice to Japan by Japanese counterattack of Kamakura government and a bigstorming to help for Japan after all. But the Kamakura government declined by that act of aggression. I heard about more than 20 houses were broken by that powerful earthquake in that Genkai Island today. We and I were wondering why the only Korean force has been stayingon Take Island in the Japan Sea despite Japanese island and a specialreason. Although they are the same people, I thought Korean government and North Korea are similar to saying by this problem. Korean said, "We see it as the second invasion of Japan by this resolution that Shimane prefecture just decided that Take Island is intheir prefecture." Korean government is crazy about especially Take Island these days. They are excited about this problem like North Korea that has other problem. Be cool and calm down like Mr. Koizumi. We might not have to apologize about any problems of Korea more tothem like this anymore. I think that is because they are scared to Japanese people. We are gentle and quiet usually, but we become people who are out of control suddenly. Basically Japanese people arepessimists unlike especially most American people, but I think it is better that we are pessimists. I think it is not better that we are optimists, according to Japanese history. They presumed on ourhaving weakness of the war and it was captured by them by their forces because of no any forces. North Korea glad by South Korea like that. So we are cool unlike Korean people. China and Korea are reducing their Japanese supporters themselves by them these days, and they are turning to Koizmumi supporters. By the way, Kamakura Daibutsu, a great image statue of Buddha, was covered with roof and wooden building a long time ago. But it was broken and carried away by tsunami a long time ago, nowadays it was exposed sitting daibutsu on the ground to the weather rain and wind for a long long time. Thisis my lunch box when I was a nursery school at six years old. Ninja Gekko (moon light) was printed on it. But I do not know anythingabout it. I think my mom bought and gave it for me. It is used by my mom until now.

AT KAMAKURA
03.20.05 (8:42 am) [edit]
|
The snow like sleet was laid 1 cm deep on the ground this morning after a long time. But the sky was clearly blue, so I hadto clear the snow. However, it kept snowing this morning after that.Basically it was windy today, it was snowing sometimes and thesun was shining in the sky sometimes. I certainly heard once an owl hooted last night. I heard it a after a long time. You know, an owl is a bird I like best. Why I get laugh whenever I hear an owl is hooting. Anyway, I did the laundry from noon for two hours after I updated my news on my web site. I found more and more what I made a web page by the Word. It is difficult what I put a picture even on it for the Internet. I had to spend extra time by extra workto update my new page. By the way, please look at today's picture. This is common Nissan dealer. As you know, my car was had car inspection by them here this week. As you can see, the car at theleft side is called "Cube." It seemed to be a demonstration model because of a hung card that says so in it. And it puts the number plate on its body. Its number plate is "11-92." It reminds us of Kamakura. Do you know Kamakura? It is one of famous old city names. It is near Yokosuka or Yokohama until now. The Kamakura government was opened by Minamoto Yoritomo at Kamakura in 1192. It was the first government that was made by samurai for the first time. We have to remember the important name of an important era in historical class at school. "1192" is one of the most famous years and most famous phrases. When Japanese people, also Mr. Koizumi, is sure to remember to Kamakura whenwe see "1192." We remembered the famous number like this, "Let's make a good country, Kamakura government." It means, "1192" is "a good country" and when you want to remember 1192'smeaning in Japan. Let's see…, it was in August 1979. My dad and me have been to Kamakura in the year I began living in Tokyo together, when I was only 18 years old. It was the first time for us to visit there. When we got to the Kamakura railroad station, he decided toride a tour bus to see some famous spots at once. We visited to the Turugaoka-hachiman Shrine that Sanetomo who was the Kamakura third shogun was killed at the stone steps in the Turugaoka-hashiman Shrine by Kugyo who was his older brother, the second Kamakura shogun, his son, the Enoshima aquarium, the Kamakura great image statue of Buddha, and so on. I think there are a lot of sightseers there. Of course, I also was watching anhistorical drama that was touched to Kamakura "Grasses fires " on NHK every Sunday night about that time. I remembered there was an electrical eel in the aquarium. We took a lunch at Enoshima Islandbefore we were going to the aquarium. My dad ate "katsudon," a bowlof rice with a breaded and fried pork cutlet on top at a small restaurant. I did not like a meet, so I ordered "tamagodon (egg bowl),"a bowl of rice topped with eggs. I think it was a good trip for us until now. A historical drama about Kamakura on NHK is just broadcastingevery Sundays night now, it is "Yoshitune." Yoshitsune is one of Kamakura shogun, Yoritomo's brothers, he was the youngest brother.Yoshitune, one of the famous samurai in Japan, was living in Hiraizumi near here about 900 years ago, when he was young. There was another country in Japan about that time, but so it was Hiraizumi government in northern Japan like Scotland in UK. You know, it is broadcasting about him at Hiraizumi now. So there are many comingsightseers there this year than last year, I think. They might eat thisrice clacker there, called "senbei." It is what my mother bought at60 yens. It was painted miso, soybean with leek past by a brush on it.I was the most interested in Kamakura era and its government, whenI was from an elementary school pupil. I like the Kamakura era mostin Japanese history. Maybe it was a simple and sturdy governmentthan before. It had been keeping an aristocracy government until that in Japan. By the way, the president of Nissan, Mr. Carlos Ghosn should know 1123's meaning. This dealer also has that 1123as a telephone number. That meaning is "Good Nissan!"

COCONUTS GROW
03.19.05 (6:57 am) [edit]
|
There are a lot of web sites of personal journal or diary in thiscategory "Journals and Diaries" in Yahoo, but I think it is only my web site that it is starting by a sentence of wake-up-time or today'sweather every day like an elementary pupil. Anyway, I cannot start my journal without writing about it every day because of no news about me hardly. I mean, writing today's weather and wake-up-timeis my starter motor of my engine to write my journal in English everyday. That's why it was fine morning today, but it turned cloudy beforenoon, and it was raining this afternoon. My mother and I went to thetemple near by after 2 pm to visit my father's grave. Most Japanese Buddhists have a custom that we visit to an ancestor grave in the each equinoctial week. We visited there in the rain, but it is for thefirst time for us. However, when we were giving a cup of tea and somejoss sticks for him, it started soaking the sunshine despite in the rain. That weather, a shower when the sun is shining, is called "kitsune no yomeiri" in Japanese. It means, when it was that weather like that,a female fox marries into a family of a male fox. Have you ever seen Kurosawa's movie? Oh, really? It starts raining heavily in the yellow clouds. "I saw a dream like this." You can see "kitsune no yomeiri" in that movie. You will be able to see a bride of fox and her families are marching in procession in the rain under the sun if you are very lucky like this weather. My mother gave him some small ball donuts in frontof his grave, but I find already a crow eats them after we left there, we brought with us by the temple's guidance, and ate it after coming back home. I thought I wanted you to crave this sentence on the grave stone for us after passing away of me. "Coconuts grow in the south island" because it was my dad's pet phrase, when he drank too much. He was speaking only this phrase in English, so I was anelementary school pupil, but I remembered that despite English sentence, without knowing even that meaning well. But he taught for us about that meaning after speaking it again and again with rolling histongue by drink. He was too shy without drink, so he did not speak English in front of us at all, but he gets a drink, hewas speaking a fluently English with only that sentence. I think he learned that English sentence with a textbook in the school, when hewas a junior high school student before the Second World War. When we leave there, raining was stopped yet and the sun was shining. After all, there were no person except us, and anyone did not comethere besides us during visiting. We do not come back home soon, we called at a confectionery store before coming back home soon on theway home to buy a box of Japanese cake. She got out of the car on our way home, and went into a restaurant to pray his mother's altar. His family is Shinto. Only I came back home before 3 pm. By the way, this is tokonoma in my house. As you can see, a lamb bank is at next of maneki-neko. It is the bank that I bought at 100 yen shop for my mom and gave her. It is a sheep because she was born in sheep year. & nbsp; 㠀€ã€€ã€€ã€€ã€€ã€€ã€€ã€€ã€ €ã€€ã€€ã€€ã€€ã€€ã€€

RAINY DAY
03.18.05 (6:20 am) [edit]
|
Basically it was rainy day today. It started falling from 11 am.I drove my mother to a hospital at 10 am. And then I went to two 100 yen shop. I spent 2,000 yens at both stores. I bought a globe for the first time there. I have never had a globe. It is on my desk now. I came back home at half past eleven. I had a call from my mother at a supermarket before 3 pm. I went to there to pick her up soon. She met her only grandchild there. She and I went to a grave in temple topray ancestors of my mother. We visited some graves with joss sticksin the rain. We came back home at twenty minutes past 3 p.m. By theway, have you ever seen or heard "maneki-neko." It is a kind of cat.Neko is cat in Japanese. According to a dictionary, it is the beckoningfigure of a cat displayed in shops to bring luck. Mostly you can see thatin a traditional store and restaurant in Japan. As you can see, the catis beckoning customer and money with its rising hand. Of course, it isours at tokonoma, too. Did you know about news of maneki-neko? Itwas used at a presidential-election of Ukraine the other day as aposter for voting to people. I saw golden maneki-neko at 100 yen shop.

NISSAN
03.17.05 (7:17 am) [edit]
It was fine and warm day. I woke up after 5 too, of course, in the morning. My car called at the clinic for my mother on the way to a dentist, first. She got out of the car, and put a consultation ticket tosee a doctor into a box. Then she came back to the car soon. My carleft for the dentist, then for my mother. First, she was going to see herteeth to a doctor, and then, she was going to walk to the clinic becausethe waiting time in the clinic was too long. She got out of the car at 10am in front of the dentist, but it was 15:30 she came back home by walking. Her legs are very short, so she has to print many steps on the road whenever she walks. Her height is just 142cm(4.67ft.) I went to a bookstore that is the biggest in this city after that. Please look at yesterday's picture. The bookstore is the right side on the main street. I bought some radio textbooks there. They are "Let's speak" "BusinessEnglish" and German basic language. Oops! I noticed that thing after I came back home, but I bought a wrong textbook of German of March. I wanted to buy that of April, because all radio and TV language coursesstart from April. And that German textbook said about my pen-friend'sname and East Europe that another my pen-friend is living. I did not getan e-mail for her from Hungary. I wonder what she is doing now. Do youwant to know more about my German? OKOK you win! When I was juniorhigh school student, I was not good at English in school. So I gave uplearning English, I chose German instead of that. But my German was over in just a month in April. So my German radio textbook left only onein my room. I mean, it is my revenge to Germany as English. And next year, I am going to choose other language as English. And then, I am going to go to the abroad for the first time! Of course, I will ride on theairplane for the first time at 50 years old. A beautiful flight attendant will come to my seat, too. I will be able to speak with a foreigner in English for the first time of my life at that time. I wonder if it is "Whichdo you like, coffee of tea?" I do not be sleepy because of exciting for myfirst abroad trip, so I will ask her "Which do you think better to go to a sleep easily for me?" I will give a cup of ( ) that she choose and given me with no doubt. Anyway, I have to get my passport, I have never had that until now. By the way, I called at Nissan car dealer on my way home, because they gave me a case and documents of other owner who alsohas Mitsubishi. Do you believe this real fact? My car did not run only2,745km (1,700miles) per two year. As I said, I do not drive without herbusiness. My mother had a call 16:40 an hour ago from her grandchild.According to him, he seemed to pass the exam for the high school. Heand his family almost were giving up about it. When my mother said about that from downstairs, I looked at a calendar of my room at once.Today was not April 1? That’s why he became my junior in the school. It will be one of super miracles in the world this year. By the way, this iscalled "kokeshi" a wooden doll at tokonoma, alcove. They are usually made in the mountain as a souvenir. Mr. Morinaga started collecting a kind of them from Iizaka hot spring as one of his collections from yesterday. There are a lot of them in my house that my father boughtin old days. I will show you them if you like again.

CAR INSPECTION
03.16.05 (6:38 am) [edit]
I woke up at 5:30. I was glad because it was not raining this morning at that time, because as you know, I have to go to a cardealer this morning, and I have to ride a bicycle to come back home.I put my mother's bicycle into a trunk of car as two years ago. I did not use a plastic rope for packing like that time, I used a rubber rope for motorcycle to bind a bicycle this time. Then I went there at just appointment time by car with a sticking out bicycle from there. As soon as I went into the building, a service staff came out of the buildingwith me to my car. He opened the bonnet to check washer water and other liquid so on at once as I said. My mother has a call from the cardealer now. I have to go there by her bicycle from now. This my PC wassleeping for 20 minutes during absence at my desk. It was sooner about1.5 hours than two years ago. I had to go there in the early evening last time. And car's inside was cleaned by them for free service. Last time, it was not cleaned. He said that we had exchanged wiper rubbers. It was reasonable price. We get to need a charge for car recycle from this January. It was about $100. I paid $1100 for it and other usual cost tohim, and I put the bicycle into a trunk again and bound it with a rubberrope during writing a receipt. I and my bicycle came back home at 5 pm.By the way, do you remember Tukidate fire station? I think you should see that picture the day before yesterday on my web site. In fact, Mr.Chiba, 79 years old, the mayor of the town passed away at his house onthe same day at 22:40 suddenly by heart failure. When I saw the article about that on the newspaper this morning, I was surprised a little. I sent the picture about 17:30 of the same day's early evening to the US. I mean, an ambulance should have gone to his house at the night from the same fire station. I had a bad feeling when I decided to send it. Youcan see the fire station from my web page yet until tomorrow if you wantto see it again. There was Mitsubishi car dealer at next door of that bychance. By the way, I am listening to the radio English program "Let's Speak" for 15 minutes everyafternoon from three years ago, I have thought it was made about one month ago, but I am sure thinking it wasrecorded by them in the afternoon and is broadcasted every day from15:25 these days. Mr. Horie is thinking he wants to cooperate with LF and Fuji TV, but if I were him, I would be thinking I want to cooperate with NHK. This is "Kaki no tane." It means "a seed of persimmon. "Kaki(persimmon) no tane (seed). It is the most popular rice cracker for drinking in Japan. A rice cracker like a seed of persimmon and peanutsare in it.

TWO CALLS
03.15.05 (7:00 am) [edit]
It was a fine but too windy day today. I made a call to a car dealernear by for an automobile inspection. We have to have our car inspectedonce two year. But it is too expensive for us. Total cost is more than $1,000. But it is very cheaper than before. A receptionist woman said, "Why don't you have it tomorrow morning, sir?" "OK. I will go there withcar until 10 am." And I made a call to a dentist. "Hello. I would like youto see my tooth. My tooth, a post crown was taken out." It was taken out on January 3 this year by a rice cake. I got to go to a dentist at last.A receptionist girl asked me, "When do you want to come here?" "Anytime OK." "You do not have a pain now, don't you?" "Yes, not atall." "Let's see…, well, next week is OK, sir?" "OK." "OK, well, pleasecome to next week." According to my memory, I have been there once.If I go there by now, I think I should go there sooner. Anyway, it was better that I did not lose it until now, because it was taken out by foodoften. It is for the first time that I give my car to them with snow tire. Every year, my car was putting summer tires on already by now. Theschedule was decided suddenly, so I had to pump air up for bicycle's tireof my mother. But I did not ride it more than a year, so they were almostflat. But it was covered with a plastic cover that I bought at 100 yenshop anytime, so it was not almost got shabby hardly. But a bit rubber pipe was damaged, so I exchanged it to new one. I needed a half hour topump air up enough for them. My mother came back home from a temple near here at 13:30, then we went to a bank soon to pull her savings. To my mother, basically the car is hers. I am her chauffeur. I do not drive a car without her these days. After listening to radio English course, I ran to the car, and I opened the bonnet of car to pourwasher water into a tank, and green water for a radiator and so on, because they are not enough, so they will pour a liquid into a tank to get enough, then they will ask for a money more. It is too expensive than I do it. Anyway, the car do not have any troubles until now, soit is a good car for us. By the way, this is my only Apple PC 6260. Andthe dentist that I will go next week at left side at this crossing. A dentistalso uses cement, though. Mt. Hataori over there, it is meaning weaving.I have been there when I was seven years old by a school trip. But I amafraid I have never been there after that. There was a graveyard for foreigners. I remembered I saw many crosses there.

MAKE MP3
03.14.05 (8:45 am) [edit]
The snow like sleet lay 1 cm deep on the ground after a long time this morning. I did not have to clear that. I was watching a learningEnglish TV "100 magic words" on this Sunday morning, too, withouthaving a breakfast. It was a fine this morning, but cloudy this afternoon.I was making mp3 file for my web page until 1 pm after MD player connected with PC with a cable. But making mp3 file was not so smoothlybecause of after a very long time that I got tired a little. However, I made it at last, so you will be able to hear it this week. I want a front tirefor my bike, but I want software to make a web page, for example, IBM Home Page Builder etc…I have never bought a kind of software for making web page. About when about I was using Win 98 PC, I was using"Front page Express" by Microsoft that was put on 98 to make a website. But from my PC was broken suddenly last April, I had been using free a software for making web page until last month despite fitting untilWin Me. But it could not get to use completely after getting veryimportant up-date. So I have been using Word of Microsoft to make itevery day after that. I think you are boring because mine is very simple, when you} see my web site. These were made by old software, so I mean, like the latest software opens a page that was made old days, so theseare like a shack now. But they are very familiar for me. You too? By theway, this is my main PC. My web page is made by this PC and send USevery day for you. I put a used floppy disk on it. Then it is too useful asI thought. I heard by the radio last night, a father of Ms. Matsushita whowas appearing in Business English was a fireman in America. I heard herfather is living in Mexico now.
